Despite law stating that you can have dogs in outdoor "open air" areas I was kicked out of the farmers market by two aggressive woman. I was told there were signs (which are placed under the pavilion so that you can't see them until you're under it) and that it's a health code violation due to vendors placing food items near the ground where a dog could drool on the product. There was no such placement of food items on the ground. I find it strange that I can be seated at an outdoor area at a restaurant, but it's illegal to have a dog at an open air farmers market. My dog is a a non aggressive breed, and there was no clear reason other than someone's rule (not sure who due to the fact that dogs are allowed in open air areas) or that someone assumed my dog was a pitbull. Either way, I politely left and do not plan to return there for my business. Indeed a very sad day for me as I prefer to support local farmers. Thank you to the vendors outside the pavilion that were very kind and supportive of involving my dog as a member of the farming community. Shame on those who turn away good business to uphold enforcement of a rule that goes against the farming community based morals.
Fair warning to those who enjoy spending time with your animals - they are not welcome here...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful every time. My husband and I are challenging ourselves to shop as exclusively local as possible, including our groceries. Our amazing Farmer's Market allows for this. It is early on, therefore there aren't as many vegetables YET(as of April so its too early) but I know there will be plenty. There is locally sourced meats (beef, chicken, pork). Herbs, plants, flowers. Eggs, cheese, vegetables and fruits. There are usually other vendors selling breads, soaps and other goods. All are amazing. You have the opportunity to talk to the people who grow your foods and even sample some. There is no real need for Chain Corporations when you have this ability. Added bonus, even with paying more for our meat(WORTH THE TASTE) we spend LESS on groceries doing it this way. And our money goes to wonderful hard working local families and I love that. As many people as the big chains employ, how many jobs did they displace originally that did not recover with a job, and yet they keep themselves...
Read moreIt not the vendors, the new woman (tyrant) running the show now. I was there one morning I guess the vendor was late and she came out screaming "he can't set up it 805" screaming like some mad lunatic. I turned and left won't be back until that idiot is replaced. I don't know who is over the hiring or firing but you have my vote on the latter choice. If I were a Vendor I would set up at TSC or some other place just let it be public. I will come see you guys there. Boycott this place until the...
