Ok so to start this review, I’m going to start off by saying, I’m handicapped. I had to re-learn how to walk. My leg was almost amputated after an accident. Some days are harder than others and require I have more support to walk proficiently. In the case with Marc’s, the support I needed was the shopping cart, and my wife’s shoulder.
When I entered the store and walked past the cigarette counter this tall, blonde hair, young male start making remarks to the other dark haired male about “look at this guy, right here he just went past”. It was around 8:20pm so store was closing soon and there weren’t many people in the store. I was the ONLY guy that just walked past. But I’m sore and every step is hurting me so let me get in and get out so I can get back home and get off my feet.
That’s when I reach the checkout line. There’s only one line open and the same tall blonde kid that was pointing me out at the cigarette counter is bagging groceries for the cashier. He looks to the cigarette counter and yells from lane 7 I believe? All the way to the cigarette counter asking one of the women at the counter if she can see me. While I’m standing in the line. Yelling across the store to her. “can you see him? He’s right here!” “Hey look he’s right here look!” He then proceeded to STOP DOING HIS JOB bagging this ladies groceries to walk over to the cigarette counter where the tall blonde guy started talking to the two women. The two women are now moving out of the way of things obstructing their view of me and are now looking looking around the checkout isles to get a glimpse of me on lane 7 checking out while I can hear them snickering, laughing, and making remarks
It was humiliating. I just tried to go grocery shopping for a few items and this dude made it his mission from the time I walked into that store to make a public spectacle of me and humiliate me. He stopped doing his job so he could go over and get the other employees to join in the humiliation and they did. Audibly. I could hear them talking about me and laughing at me. Totally humiliating that I had to stand there and wait for the cashier to finish ringing my stuff out, while the other Marc's staff was making fun of me where I could hear them.
Imagine how it feels to then have to walk to my vehicle holding onto my wife shoulder because I can’t walk without falling. After all these employees just humiliated me over it in the store. It was disgusting low life behavior. This shouldn’t happen to anyone. The worst part is that I paid to be treated that way and it makes me sick to my stomach to know that these people will receive a paycheck for treating me that way.
Worst grocery shopping experience of my life. 0/10.
UPDATE; I talked to the Marc’s president of customer relations the very next day. She told me she would get to the bottom of it after I told her what happened. 2 days later she called me back. Now keep in mind I was one of the only people in the store as it was close to closing. Instead of giving me any kind of real reason or explanation. This lady tried to gaslight me into believing there was some guy dancing around me whenever I passed the employees that were making remarks about me. She doesn’t know that I could hear them specifically making fun of my tattoos so I know for a fact they were talking about me. I never told her that part because the fact that they were making fun of me for being handicapped was serious enough. But according to her they were actually just pointing out and making fun of ANOTHER shopper in the store. And he just so happened to be dancing around the store wherever I was and the staff was making remarks about their specific tattoos on MY body. She lied to me to protect their punk staff. I’m making reports with ADA and BBB, whoever else. Looks like marks wants to make this a legal matter. Very disappointing Janet. I was really hoping you would help me find a sense of justice in this situation instead of...
Read moreBought some fresh fruit here, since raspberries and strawberries and I did check them before I bought them for the sake of bad fruit but I couldn't see anything on the surface (I didnt want to stick my fingers in it in case I didnt want it). Well, when I got home I was making a fruit salad and when I was picking raspberries and strawberries out of the cotainers and there was mold all over the bottom of each. I went back to the store and to the counter, and I told the workers about the situation and they said ok you can exchange them I said ok thank you. They didnt really apologize or anything but I didnt throw a fit because all I wanted was to make a point. Well I go to the back to exchange and I then tried without sticking my finger in the containers to thoroughly check and I then found 2 more containers of moldy fruit so I got my exchange of good fruits and brought up the two bad ones and I told the workers that I had found 2 more containers and all they said was ok you can set them on the counter. I guess my biggest suggestion is maybe the workers that dont have much to do could check the fruit and make sure...
Read moreToday, July 6, I was in this store and apparently an elderly person had a BM accident all throughout the store. It was down several aisles, including large main aisles, down a checkout lane, out the door. Not a single person was cleaning it up (which I get, but come on, it's a biohazard). Not a a caution sign, nothing!! Did I mention this was human poop?? We said something at customer service to which we got a reply of "yeah we know". Finally as we were trying to get out of there as fast as possible one manager lady in her regular clothing was on her knees up front with some paper towels & spray trying to clean it up. At least that spot. No mop, nothing. Literally every other employee just stood there not helping. Again, it was thru a large portion of the store. Pretty sure OSHA wouldn't be too thrilled with that considering Marc's sells food for crying out loud. Totally disturbing, will NEVER go back to this...
