A good place to get a treat near the mall and the movie theater. Ben & Jerry’s started in 1978 when childhood friends Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield opened their first scoop shop in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont. What began as a small business with a $12,000 investment has grown into a global ice cream company with over 600 stores worldwide, including several locations across Florida. I have been to several of their stores over the years. A visit to a typical Ben & Jerry’s ice cream store in Florida is enjoyable and fun and great on a hot day. The stores have a relaxed atmosphere with colorful murals, friendly staff, and the smell of freshly baked waffle cones. At all stores that I have visited, I have found a great selection of flavors, including popular choices like Cherry Garcia, Chunky Monkey, and Phish Food. They have non-dairy, vegan, and sorbet options to ensure there’s something for everyone. I was waiting for a friend at the Oaks Mall and decided to stop in to get a treat. I am glad I did. It is conveniently located between the movie theater and a restaurant. There is seating inside and a couple of tables outside. The store was clean, the staff was nice. The prices seem high but the ice cream is delicious and there are not a lot of ice cream shops around. Overall, a visit to this (or any) Ben & Jerry’s in Florida is a great place to get a...
Read moreJust stopped in tonight after seeing a movie at the Oaks. I will start of by admitting that I was the person that left the mess of napkins and milkshake at the register. I made the mess because one of your employees decided it wasn't her job to not over fill the milkshake cup and then handed it to me with the lid not attached. She did this as if to say, "here is the mess I created for you". No I'm sorry or can I put this in a larger cup. Just here is a mess you get to pay for and deal with. Furthermore, when handed a coupon for 50% of a second shake (we ordered 3) she just took 10% off the order. Let me think 10% off of $18+tax or 50% off of $6. I'm assuming math isn't her favorite subject. Bottom line, save your money and go anywhere and I mean anywhere else. This place is in need of some corporate intervention and...
Read moreI never even knew Ben and Jerry's Brand had a store until I went to movies and noticed this shop next door. I got really excited, as an ice cream enthusiast, but apparently I took too long looking at the menu because the young Asian boy got an attitude and asked loudly (I wasn't close to the counter yet) if I was going to make an order. I got anxious and just quickly decided on the brownie sundae and from then continued, every question he asked was in a way as if I was an annoyance. I truly thought about saying nevermind and walking out but anxiety didn't allow for me to do that haha. Won't be back though. I'll stick to getting Ben and Jerry's from the store, less hatefulness that way. The other young man working with him seemed to be much more cheerful and less annoyed with his...
