I have had a membership at this gym since they opened. Like many of you, I rarely if ever used it. If you use yours, good for you!! During the pandemic, I continued to be charged for services that were unavailable to me. I called the phone number available during this time and spoke to a bank, not a company representative. I was told that I could only cancel my membership in person. When I inquired how I could do that since the facility was closed, it took 15 minutes on hold for them to come back and tell me that if I canceled the membership the day they opened, in person they would waive the fees for the months I was unable to use the service. The first day they opened, I went in and cancelled my membership, in person. I asked if there was a balance due and they let me know I did not. GREAT right?!?!? Last week I recieved my first communication from them since that day. It wasn't a we want you back or we valued your membership, no, it was from a collection agency!!! No warning, no email, no mail, no phone calls they avoided contacting me and sent me straight to collections. I called the collections agency (the same bank I had previously talked to) and they let me know that unless I had something in writing I owed the debt. Furthermore, they told me that if I didn't pay them right away it would be reported to credit bureau. REALLY??? So, I paid their blackmail to protect my credit $32.00. Really after years of making money off me and not having to see me, I was being blackmailed for $32.00??? So I write this review to make all of you aware of the sad business practices of this establishment. I am sickened at the way they operate (who makes it so you have to cancel in person in today's digital age) the way they are managed (who gives out a number that leads to a bank rather than the local establishment) the way they deal with customers (rather than telling me I had a balance due when I was in person, they just sent me to collections because it spares them the conversation) and I would never have mentioned this because they got me but their predatory business practices ( they walk you through a contract and fail to mention that along with their low monthly rates, they have an enormous annual fee) . Anyways, they got me. I just hope that this review helps someone make an educated decision when deciding which company to do business with. I already have my membership in Perris but I wanted to open a new membership in this gym to join classes with Loretta, just because of her I was opening a new one since Perris and Menefee are two different owners. I got a 3-day pass, but it turned out that I could only get into the classes once. The second time I tried to use the pass a girl named "Ely" šI'm not sure if it's her name but she is a lady who has a lot of blush and big eyes she let me in but after a few seconds she told me that I had to pay $15 dollars, I explained that I was interested in opening a new membership but wanted to finish the 3 days pass. She told me that she let me into the machines but not into the class. I explained again that I wasn't interested in using the machines because I already have a Perris membership, that I was only there for classes with Loretta, just because of her I was opening the new membership. She then said thati had to pay $7 if i wanted to get in. Total, I couldnt join the class. They did not respect my 3-day pass and well no, with that attitude I am not going to leave my money in this facility. The whole conversation was spoken to me with attitude and well, I earn my money with hard work to leave it where they don't treat me well. Credit to Loretta for bringing people to your gym, but you're kicking people out once we walk through the door. I stay at my original gym in Perris/Moreno Valley, where I have been treated like family since day one 3 years ago. It doesn't have a 4.9 rating for nothing. There was another issue the first day (and the only one) that i came with this same lady when I asked her for a promotion that they had that time She gave me some information and another lady asked the same thing a moment later and she gave her different information than mine (conflict information). You need to change your customer service treatment and your priorities because obviously the customer is not, you have nothing to lose by respecting the passes and if you would win more customers. Not only that nobody is cleaning these things after people use them itās kind of honor system type thing so make sure you grab the bleach bottle and towels and wipe it yourself because when itā comes to cleaning such things the honor system is a no go . That aside the bed or stand up unit was really bad quality . My hands got more burn than any where got a tan . Itās just a weird set up . Since I have gone to many before I know what it should be like . Itās 33 a month not 19 for tanning . And they charge an enrollment fee . So I ended up paying over 60 the first day . After three days I went in and told them I just could not use their beds anymore . I was told I would get my money back since it was within the five day period . That did not happen . I then got another 33 dollar bill the following month .
Now we are talking 95 bucks . I called and at first the girl acted like I was not going to get refunded as I needed to cancel before five days . She had my records in front of her . Then she looked and said the date I told her that is within five days plus now another month . She said I should get it all back . Manager should call me tomorrow. I will let you know how good their word is after I see it I get my refund . If not then Iād say stay away from this place . Nice when you first join. Not so nice when you quit .āwe shall see .
