Stopped in for a little sweet treat this afternoon with my grandma. I have been wanting to come to this ice cream joint since it opened but was always too full after eating at the restaurants around it. But today was the day!
Walking in, you are smack in the face with the scent of sweetness! They need to make a candle scent out of Stells's! I wouldn't mind my house smelling like this place all the time. We were greeted by a sweet gal behind the counter. She went through the ice cream list with me and offered me any samples of ice cream I might want to try first before I commit. I appreciate how patient she was with all my questions.
I grabbed my grandma a single scoop of strawberry. It was a gracious scoop of ice cream. I got the mini Irish cream coffee. I did get a sample of it before I decided to order it. The mini is very mini but it honestly was the perfect size for me since I'm on a fluid restriction. It was the cutest, daintiest scoop.
The strawberry ice cream was perfectly pink, sweet and creamy. I had a couple bites of course and it was delicious! My Irish cream was great! You can taste the coffee and the Irish cream. The Irish cream wasn't overwhelming. Between the coffee and the Irish cream, it was very balanced. And for my ice cream to be gluten free..... it was fabulous! I didn't leave any left in my cup!
It was nice to come here this afternoon and check out this ice cream joint. The gal that helped us was super sweet! The venue is bright and cute. There was a great selection of ice cream for you to pick from. And there were all sorts of merch to look at. I look forward to coming back with my Grandma for another sweet treat. Stella's completed our...
Read moreMeh, not that special. Normally I don't bother to provide details about how mediocre a place is but I have been spurred to by the business's clever use of sarcasm. Keep in mind that "mediocre" isn't a bad thing per se, it's neither outstanding nor off-putting.
When looking at options for ice cream in the area I'd recommend either Lovejoy's or Snake River creamery (I am unaffiliated with either). I would discourage anyone from going to Yonutz. This is to provide parameters from excellent to dreadful.
Stella's is fine. The profile leans to the too sweet side masking underlying flavor which leads to flavor disappearance. The options are standard but unadventurous and the addition of well-known corporate food fillers is always a favorite for some but I find it to be disappointing as it undercuts the quality of the other fresh ingredients, ruining the base product. As well, sprinkles might appeal to some but these are waxy and unnecessary. The creaminess was standard though my companions described what they sampled as somewhat "sandy" (we all work in the food industry). I found the texture to be on the gummy side which is preferable to high overrun but not optimal. I'm sure this business does well and has its loyal customers. Just because I would suggest allowing the flavors to not be overridden by sugar and corporate fillers doesn't equal financial success. I would also recommend reducing the bakery goods size percentage when adding ice cream since it overwhelms the...
Read moreWe heard this location had a drive thru, so stopped by to check it out. Waited in the drive thru for 10 minutes, no one checked on us. Tried calling the store several times and just got a general answering machine saying they weren't available. Finally just pulled up to the window and it's dark. Hello! Put a sign up! Let people know! That way I'm not sitting idling my car in 100 degree weather with impatient toddlers. Completely unimpressed. Will continue to take my business elsewhere.
My husband ended up going in. There was one girl working that was very inconvenienced, he asked about the drive thru and she said "oh yeah it's open, but it's just me so...". Wow! Where are the owners? That is incredibly poor business. Brand new and already not offering a solid customer experience. First of all, you should be there working if you only have one employee. You should also put up a sign warning people so they don't waste their time sitting in a pretend drive thru. He also mentioned to her that we tried calling several times and it was giving a general voice-mail like it was the wrong number to which she replied "oh yeah I don't even know the number for here". What? We will not be back to...
