I am a Macy's card holder and a loyal, repeat customer. The experience we had a this store yesterday makes me want to never shop here again. With this kind of experience it is no wonder they are going out of business. We bought some women's pajamas here for Christmas and they were too small so we drove up from Palm Bay (one hour) to return them. We specifically asked when we bought them what is needed if we need to return. All the cashier said was you have to return them here, keep the tags on them and have your receipt. All of which we did because we knew they were the "backstage items". We spoke with two of the rudest people I have encountered in a while. First the cashier and then her boss who said she was the manager of that area. She said because I had pulled off the barcode sticker on the item's tag (that was still attached) she could not give me a refund and flat refused to work with me. In my experience as a gift giver it is customary to remove stickers prior to giving someone a gift. She was so rude and nasty it was humiliating. I have worked in customer service for 35 years and the way she handled this was ridiculous. And all this over $9 pajamas. She made me feel like a lair who was trying to scam them and I was astounded over her level of aggression. She was so sarcastic and condescending it was unbelievable. After we had to argue with her back and forth she finally agreed to allow us to do an exchange. I would not recommend Macy's for shopping, especially not...
Read moreMacy's is located in the Merritt Square Mall and is 1 of 4 anchor's that include Dillard's, JCPenney and Sear's. The salespeople are helpful when needed, but never pressure you for the 'hard sale', so, you can shop in a relaxed atmosphere of a true luxury anchor store and take in all the deals found ,traditionally, at their frequent '1 Day Sales'. It's a bigger store than most with a second floor; the only one in the entire mall. The selection of merchandise is always good with a variety of clothes from many different collections for both men & women. They also have furnishings, beddings & accessories for your home on the second floor along with kitchen appliances ,fine china and luxury linens & pillows by well known makers. Feel free to try on new looks without pressure from the staff; I do often ,and, it's not unlikely that you will gain a repoir with the staff and actually gain a 'personal shopper' who will point you to new looks from your favorite collections and, also, sometimes show you to the existing sales on labels you've bought in the past. In addition to all that, they have an extensive luxury fragrance collection for both men & women. And ,let's not forget fine jewelry ,accessories i.e. designer bags, watches & sunglasses. Plus, luxury brands of makeup and scincare for men and women. This is definitely the best department store in the Merritt...
Read moreWoman working the Estee Lauder makeup counter today (5/25/17) was rude to my friend and I. And this isn't the first interaction with this snobby old woman. I guess she assumes since we're teenagers we aren't going to purchase anything. We also came in a couple months ago and received attitude then. I actually wanted to purchase a primer but I guess I"m better off getting it from Ulta or Sephora. I filed a complaint with corporate and tried to contact a store manager yet no one would answer the phone. Since my friend and I parked near the Macy's entrance to the mall we had to go out through that way, she gave us one hell of a nasty look as we walked past her on the way out holding bags from stores in the mall. If she didn't have such an attitude maybe I would've bought something from her, but save your money and spend it somewhere with nicer store associates. Also, to the woman who was working the counter, when you work in customer service, usually being nice to the customer helps you make a sale, not being a snobby and rude. IF a manager doesn't come in contact with me soon I will be in contact with...
