Went to brickhouse games on a couple different occasions to sell the magic cards and they seem to be very fair and reliable. Came in about a week ago with about 83 cards that they chose out of a pile and where can I come by spending an hour going through the cards just to tell us that we needed to come back next Thursday when they had money and they would buy them. They made it very clear that they wanted us to come back so that we should keep them and they would offer us the same price. Friday after the Thursday getting an extra day that they could have come up with the money and we're told that they have to pay rent that I have no money. I understand things coming up and all that but he had no reason to like us and make us wait when he could have killed them somewhere else leaving us money and this making it impossible to trust them or ever want to come back because there's no guarantee they will follow through with their word. I understand the business of buying and selling things people have the ability to accept or deny an offer but when I'm told that I am guaranteed a sale if I keep them and I'm not going to give it an apology or even really an acknowledgment and being straight up lied to, I would never recommend this business. Lawyers and people who try to finesse based on people who may have no other option at the time but to expect the money which we did need for various things not to mention driving an hour so we lost money and time. Go to common grounds if you need to sell cards as these guys dont have good...
Read moreI finally got back into D&D again by finding a meetup group that led me to Brickhouse. I'm fortunate to live so close to such an excellent shop. They have a large group of MtG players, tables for Warhammer, and they offer D&D Adventure League on Thursdays and Saturdays. The space to play in is ample and they coordinate signups for D&D through a Facebook group. They also have a small selection of paintable figures for various games, D&D accessories, and they sell MtG singles/packs. Snacks are also available behind the counter. The owner is very kind and did everything he could to make me feel welcome as I returned to D&D after a 10 year hiatus. The D&D groups are excellent and well coordinated, and occasionally the senior DMs will put on a clinic to encourage new DMs to start running games. I hope this shop lasts for a long, long time because I think all the factors that make it work so well would be hard to...
Read moreStore is nice and clean and I've been up there a few times. Product was a bit sparse, most of my MTG experiences with the location were not pleasant ones. I'm a very very casual player with a 40 dollar EDH deck. Being made fun of after game within earshot and told I'm not gonna have fun pre talk when invited to play an edh game(s) doesn't make me wanna come back at all. I'm sure other formats are fine, I have no interaction with any of that.
Staff and store totally apart, none of my experiences has anything to do with them. Services and space were great and they were helping folks while gaming themselves.
I suggest as a consumer check it out for yourself and get your own vibe of the place and see if it's for you, it wasn't for me but everything...
