This is a very good restaurant in the Mesquite, NV community with reliable personnel and a good menu! In Mesquite, there are basically 3 age groups of people: the "under 30s" who basically work everywhere there is to work, the *over 65s" who can predictably be seen with an Inogen oxygen concentrator & cane (these are the residents of Mesquite who often live in golf-course home communities but have never played a round of golf in their life though they have lived in places like New York City or Los Angeles before retiring and selling their high-value home and moving to a more-hospitable state like Nevada) and the "45-64" group of golfer men (and their spa wives in tow) which fly in or drive in for golfing tournaments and live in any other place not Nevada or Utah, most likely. I can imagine the young ladies that work at this restaurant are definitely in the under 30's demographic and they seem to be native Spanish speakers so they likely live with their parents or other relatives in the area and fly back to South of the border with their family from time to time. They are a motivated group of conscientious ladies that run this restaurant, which has a permanent "For Sale" sign on the curb (attention Tiffany Derry! Calling Tiffany Derry! White Courtesy Telephone please). The menu is classic Italian-American fare of high quality and variety worthy of withstanding any criticism and critique though obviously the ingredients are institutional (what do you want in the desert, after all? We should be so lucky to have a regular Sysco truck on a weekly basis....). While the staff is obviously not well-groomed for this cuisine having grown up in a different culture, they do an amazing job catering to the golfers and residents alike. This restaurant truly is a good value for the area, given the logistical and staffing challenges they face every day. I'm glad they are open and I hope to return on a regular basis. I think you'll agree if you take the time to visit this...
Read moreThis is Mesquite, Nevada’s best kept secret for the best food. This little Italian restaurant has an ambiance that is perfect for a night out but is still great for taking the family and kids for a lunch of super good pizza and spaghetti. I suggest the lobster ravioli. It is divine and the sauce it comes in is to die for. With your dinner they bring you a salad which I’m not sure how you make a salad taste better than other salads, but somehow they’ve managed to do it. I actually have cravings for that salad on a regular basis. They also have some very divine desserts here. From cheesecake to chocolate lava cake with a few in between there’s something for everyone’s taste. The service here is amazing and we are always well taken care of. It has never been very busy when we have been here, that’s why I say this is Mesquite’s best kept secret. I actually debated on doing a review so as to keep it that way, but this place deserves to be discovered. By everyone! Don’t miss out on this place, especially if you love Italian food, this will blow your taste buds away. It has mid range prices but worth the cost. You can find it on the main strip in Mesquite just down from the Casablanca casino and hotel on the opposite side of the street. 😒Ok so I’m changing this review. This place has definitely gone downhill fast. I’m not sure what happened but the last two times we ate there both my salad and my entree of spinach ravioli had sand or dirt or something in it. It’s like they’re not washing their vegetables well enough. I had so much grit in my ravioli I didn’t even take a second bite. And the kicker was, I hadn’t touched, but for maybe a bite, either my salad or my entree and the waitress didn’t even bother to ask if anything was wrong or ask if we wanted the food taken off our bill. Maybe ownership changed, I don’t know but they need to do something to fix this and quick before the health department gets called in to...
Read moreThis is only coming from a new person to town. I've been here about 5 weeks and just hadn't had the time, but it's all we could talk about. My whole family is Italian, and the excitement was all there. But, the time came, and my boyfriend was down. We went here because, heck, yes, right?! No. The Alfredo's we both got, were so unedible, and so gross I wanted to cry. And for a guy to take 3 bites of his and then quit is also something, because he's a man's man, he'll eat anything you give him. When the lady came back and took them away, honest to God no more than 3 bites were taken 😞 Now, I thought it was just kind of a 'restaurant etiquette' if you will, to not charge for food that wasn't eaten due to well, the food, we still got an appetizer and would have happily paid and left. But almost 76$ later, we went home hungry. And it was already too late so we ended up with McDonalds, and I have a Zero Eating there policy and I'd rather take their mystery meet rather than whatever happened here 😞 I feel awful leaving a bad review, but I was sooo so upset that we paid almost 80$ for absolutely nothing and THEN, of my gosh I can't believe I forgot. They only had 1 of their desserts (Already off to a horrific start, I didn't think you could even ruin dessert with it 😞) but the 'Tiramisu' was still frozen inside and on the bottom. Frozen. Icicles. Seriously, I am so heartbroken even writing this, I don't want to leave reviews like this, but nobody else should have to go through that experience and then still be charged that much for it and still go home as hungry. The decor is probably from late 80s or early 90's with no updates in sight. And the person that helped us....was not very awesome either. This whole experience makes me want to cry, and my ancestors very mad at me 😕 I'm so sorry Cucina, but hurting me with your food is a worse betrayal than when I asked for a divorce. Food is life. This...
