Ladies, if you’re on the fence about it, this is your sign to BOOK THE BOUDOIR SHOOT! I decided I wanted to do boudoir session for my fiancé’s wedding present, but I didn’t realize it was going to be such an empowering experience for ME. I turn 40 this year and have 4 decades worth of body insecurities. I did a lot of research in trying to find the best and most respected boudoir studio in the United States. I’m a pilot so I could have gone anywhere. I saw Astrid’s work, read her reviews, and then spoke with her on the phone and I just knew Liberation Boudoir was where I would feel most comfortable.

Astrid does an incredible job streamlining the experience and communicates with you from your initial call until you receive your album. It is SUCH a professional operation. And, let’s be honest, you get what you pay for.

The actual experience was SO much fun. I’ve never done any modeling so I was very nervous about just standing there and looking silly. The studio is huge and Astrid is absolutely gorgeous, so that was intimidating too. But, I was greeted like a princess with a glass of sparkling rosé, shown around the incredible studio (the are at least 10 tasteful scenes set up), and introduced to the hair and make up artist. While Astrid went through the outfits I brought and placed the lingerie with the sets they’d look best with, I was pampered with full hair and make up.

Now at ease and feeling excited about how great my “make over” looked, Astrid took her time explaining how she would pose me and some of the buzz words she’d use so I’d know what to do when she said them. I really appreciated the time she took explaining those things, because it made the shoot go so smoothly and made me understand exactly what she wanted me to do.

By the end of the shoot, I was considering a professional modeling career (just kidding lol) and exhausted. (Don’t forget to eat a real meal before your shoot, because it’s definitely a little bit of a work out holding the poses!)

To add to how amazing Astrid is, it was raining and I was in a hurry to leave the studio and got into a car accident as I was driving back to the studio to pick up my outfits. Astrid loaded all my stuff in her car and brought it to me at the scene of the accident! She checked up on me several times after. She’s not just a talented artist and photographer, but also a really good person!

During my photo reveal, I was in tears. I couldn’t believe the I was the woman in the pictures. Astrid was able to pose me in ways that were SO flattering and showed off my best points. She really listened to what my insecurities are and made sure to avoid posing me in ways that would accentuate those things. Going into the Astrid was absolutely amazing to work with. From the first conversation on the phone, she made everything easy and very comprehensive. She broke down each step in the process of getting ready for the session and made it stress free! From time to time she would emailed me ideas on what to buy and where to buys them. The session itself was an experience i will never ever forget. By me being very hard of hearing she took her time and walk me through and showed me some poses.

Throughout the entire session, Astrid took extra care to show me the poses she wanted me to do and Lord I saying this ladies by the time we were done with photo shoot. I felt like i just completed a 4 miles runs with weights. All my muscles i didn't think i have was soared but in a wonderful happy way. which made the experience even more personal and enjoyable.

When I saw the final photos, I was so shock and blown away. I didn't believe that was me. I couldn't hold the tears in any more. Astrid's skillful use of strategic poses enhanced my best features and helped me feel confident and beautiful, despite my initial reservations about my body from weight lost. She managed to hide the things that made me feel self-conscious, like my double chin, scars from car accident and previous surgery, leaving me feeling empowered and proud of the images she captured.

Going into the session, I was feeling nervous and self-conscious, especially since I hadn't been able to lose the weight I intended to and had actually gained a bit due to an unexpected surprise - I found out I was about 18 weeks pregnant just a week before the shoot, and I was definitely showing.

From the moment I shared my concerns with Astrid, she was incredibly reassuring and supportive. She congratulated me on my pregnancy and made sure to let me know that she would do everything possible to make me feel comfortable and beautiful during the shoot. She even offered to adjust the session to focus on maternity photography if that's what I preferred.
