Marc's — Local services in Middleburg Heights

have been shopping at Marc's for quite awhile. I have ran across expired food several times but decided to stick with Marc's because they are on the cheaper side. I made sure to always read the dates of my food though. Recently Marc's hired an outside company for security purposes. My last visit at Marc's the security guard at the door asked me to open my purse so that he can make sure I didn't steal anything. I was surprised because I had just came out of the line where I paid for my groceries. In fact, I also stood in the food line to get my daughter some popcorn but the line was too long. I was the only African American person in the store and he decided to check my bag. I explained to him that I just came out of the line and paid for my food. I opened my bag and showed him my wallet and keys which were the only things in my bag. He berated me as I left telling me that he would check my mom and dad if they were there. I decided to go back in the store to speak to the manager. I spoke to two different managers and both were surprised that he checked my bag. One manager stated that he was there to check receipts and stickers. I left the manager my information but decided to call customer service the next day. The customer service rep seemed surprised that he checked my bag because they were only suppose to check receipts and stickers. This is the second time I heard this from a Marc's employee. A week later I called customer service back after they told me they were going to investigate the situation. The manager of customer service said the security guard didn't do anything wrong even after the security guard berated me in front of my child. I know that the security guard racially profiled me but Marc's made excuses for him. I would have had more respect for Marc's if they were to just apologize for his actions and hire a new security guard! This leads me to believe that Marc's is o.k with minorities being racially profiled in their stores. I will never go to Marc's again! I'm no...

Love shopping at this location. A few weeks back I was walking through the shopping plaza close to Marc's and a gentleman asked if I would like a shopping cart. That gentlemen was Marc Glassman himself. Talk about customer service😊 This store has a great selection of products . Their Closeouts Department always neat and tidy. Pharmacy staff helpful and professional. Great selection of produce. Well managed Deli Department. The nicest Customer Service staff. Cashiers/checkout registers fast , friendly and efficient. Bathrooms clean. Tons of shopping carts inside and outside of store. The shelves are stocked with an amazing selection of just about everything you need. Always a fantastic stress free shopping experience at this location....

Had a great shopping experience until I got to check out, an employee which looked to be the manager( her name was precious) rudley told me my kids needed to move out her way. I asked for 4 quarters for my daughter's to get something out the gumball machine the cashier had to wait until she came over. She came over and started yelling at the older lady bagging the products. She was extremely rude smacked her lips and said we aren't even allowed to do this and rudley gave me 4 quarters. I would of rather she just told us no at this point. She continued to yell at the older lady. Precious seems to verbally abuse her staff. I apologized to my cashier. I feel bad for everyone working...
