WOW WOW WOW!!!! I want to give a huge shout out to store # 154 on Lincoln Highway in PA. These guys are just great and a special kudos to Desiree, Pro Manager; James, Pro Specialist; JT-Floor Manager; and Tom, Shipping. These people took super extra care of me! We were looking to do our entire 2nd floor in hardwood for about 1000 SF and went to the usual suspects first (Avalon, LL, and some smaller local places). My wife then told me to check out Floor and Decor (F&D) across from Lowe's. Have been in the area many yrs but never really focused on the store before. Walked in and was amazed at the size and the total selection. I liked the fact the individual floors are well displayed in very large panels so you really get a sense of what the floor will look like. Other stores have a small display of the wood and doesn't really give a good visualization. I also like that samples are readily available for nominal cost. I walked the aisles and found myself coming back to a Natural Hickory 5-inch and 3/4 board. The product looked great on the panels, was very substantial to the touch, and made in America. I needed about 53-boxes. Desiree worked with me on the price and felt she was very fair and reasonable. The product shipped on time thanks to Tom and JT and was able to return some unused product as long as the box was not open. My contractor could not compliment me enough on the product saying he has put in many floors but none so beautiful and unique. The boards vary widely in color and show many of the wood characteristics so you get a very unique look...not all light and not all dark but varied and interesting + hickory is one of the hardest domestic woods so great for traffic and pets. Could not be happier with the purchase, price, and service. Sure, look around at other stores but make sure to put F & D on your list and I am sure they will end up on your short list if not at the top. GREAT...

Very disappointed in Floor & Decor. I bought a wide board Acacia Wood Butcher Block Island. It was significantly more expensive than the regular butcher block islands, but I really wanted the wide board and planned on rotering the edges with an ogee bit. No where in the description does it mention that this wide board island is only VENEERED. It's a small board, interior! Only after we brought it home, installed it and started to remove the heavy wax layer, they for some reason have on the 2 ends, did we see it was only VENEERED. Is the wax there to hide the fact that it's not what they advertise it to be!!! Again, I had planned on rotering the edges and now I can't! My son bought a wide board Acacia (live edge) from Home DePot for a fraction of the price and it was truly through and through wide board Acacia wood. I didn't want live edge so opted with the Floor & Decor one thinking it would be even nicer! My son paid $250 LESS than I did for a VENEERED TOP. I looked again, but there is no place where it says this is not truly wide board butcher block! Also, there is no place on the website to give the item a review, so I'm going to post everywhere that I can to let people know they should be very careful of trusting Floor & Decor product descriptions. I feel very ripped off!!

Update: I was contacted by a manager and they gave me a credit back on the counter. I was pleased that it made the counter more in line with the quality of the product received. I was told that they would also have their corporate office re-write the product details on the website to reflect it is a veneered product. That has not yet occured and it is still listed as $629, which is much more than the product is worth. I am hopeful they will update the description and lower the price to reflect the actual product and it's value. I am happy they were so willing to work with me...

After buying a new home, you learn a few things, such as the fact that Home Depot isn't the end all be all. I was a literally blown away by the selection that was offered to me at this "warehouse " type store which was pretty much a giant showroom. What really distinguished this place from another big box store is the personalized assistance you receive from your very own complimentary interior designer. Alicja T. was my consultant and she was a dream to work with. I'm very specific about my visions and somehow she turned it into reality. She found a happy medium between staying true to what I wanted and adding her professional input. What really surprised me the most was not just her knowledge in design and making my rooms beautiful- Alicia was able to teach me about my project from beginning to end. She not only taught me how to choose the correct grout for each room's needs, (which you can attribute to her design skills), but she also made sure I had my contractor choose the correct type of adhesive for the projects. When I brought this up to my contractor, he replied that he had been in the business for 20 years and knows what he's doing. I insisted he go with what Alicja suggested, and after doing so, he admitted how much more pleased he was with the product that was selected and how he would change his "20 year old ways!". It didn't stop there, she also taught me the products that should be used to properly maintain each type of material as well as what type of cleaning supplies should be avoided. I can not rave about this experience enough- this store and their representative really went above and beyond what I expected from a big box retail location (or from a smaller design store for that matter!). I'm just looking forward to my next project so that I can have Alicja...
