The staff are friendly and the prices are good for the things they sell. They also sell large appliances and things you'll have a hard time finding elsewhere. The problem I have is that they take CRT televisions from the public, but don't offer them back to the public before sending them to be destroyed. On three separate occasions I have seen a few or more CRTs sitting out front and have been told no, I cannot buy them, they are trash, but I also may not just take them. How are you going to tell me they're trash and in the same breath tell me I can't take it? Why not let me save working retro electronics from the dump? It's only a few more years before all these things are truly vintage, there's already a HUGE market and demand for them, and there are still people in the area who fix them. I understand habitat probably gets paid for each set they bring to e-waste, but I have offered to pay and am always told no. Makes no sense. There's a finite number of these things in the world anymore and it would be nice if they at least just let me take ones they don't plan on selling. Really disappointing that this is the only place around you can actually see abandoned CRTs and you just gotta watch 'em get sent to...
Read moreThis store is fantastic! Everything you buy goes to support Habitat for Humanity. I've never encountered a person that wasn't helpful! Their inventory changes a lot! They often have appliances in addition to lots of furniture, clothes, toys, and household goods. They have a lot of brand new things! I got two fantastic lamps new in the box for $10! They have great deals on paint for your house or crafting. I got a nice size jar of craft paint for under $20! I was surprised by the fantastic color choices too! They had new winter coats for $10 but only in a size medium. You just never know what you will find there! They always have new items at the end caps by the register or you can ask where more are. I also joined their fb page. They post brand new inventory photos when they get large shipments! Fantastic for buying for yourself or reselling! We are lucky to have this location. There are others as well. You just never know what you'll find!
Pro tip: park in the back of the shopping center! If you go in through the shopping enterprise you will have to go down a large flight of stairs! All donations also get dropped off in at the...
Read moreBesides the furniture, housewares, helpful staff, etc. mentioned in the other reviews, this is a great place to find used books at very reasonable prices; tons of fiction, coffee-table books, history, literature, books for kids and teens, gardening, religion, sports, pets, travel, joke books, sociology, science, cookbooks, biography, Christmas-themed, etc. - many in good to like-new condition. There are books from the early 1900’s and modern bestsellers.
They’re constantly getting more books in...the shelves are overflowing and the newest donations are often not-yet sorted by type/subject, but are “in waiting” on the lowest shelves throughout the book area, so - if you’re patient - you’ll find a lot of treasures there that no one else has spotted yet.
Also, they sell CDs, records, and DVDs plus VHS and cassette tapes (and often the players you need to enjoy them.)
The store isn’t currently open every day, and they don’t have late hours at the moment, so be sure to check their schedule before you...
