Gabe's — Local services in Middletown

This is normally one of my favorite go to stores but not only today, lately they have not been offering any quality shoes like they used to in the past. The selections have been poor and the store is so unorganized it has looked awful. I often see many workers but they just stand at the wrap desk to check you out. I haven't seen workers folding, hanging and straightening the store in awhile. It may be a work/employee shortage . Nevertheless, buying clothing items has been such an inconvenience lately due to the new no fitting rooms.. I am between sizes so I have to buy the items, take them home to try,(I live 30 mins. or more away) just to return later. I hate returning items, but without a fitting room and purchasing 2 of every clothing item limits my shopping experience. I would love Gabes to get back to offering a better selection of Men's and Kids shoes, Kids clothes, name brand shoes like MK,Nike,Adidas,Puma,Timberland along with nicer clothes like Levi's that they have had in the past. I will continue to shop here but would love to see the store improve the cleanliness and organization. Lastly, offering a better system to receive your coupons would be beneficial to the overall...

5 people behind the registers. Only 1 came forward to ring customers; a young man. The customer at the front of the line, that the man was ringing up, had, literally, a cart FULL of clothing items when more than 10 people we're in line, 1 more person got on a till... But she was not happy at all. Then she couldn't gain access to ANY register. I had to re-enter the line to wait twice. She barely said three words to me, did not thank me, say goodbye or anything. . . She was on her phone or walkie the whole time. Never acknowledged me in any way. Nothing. My entire check out wait time was over 30 minutes. And I was the first person in a line of more than 10. Employees seemed to only want to mess with clothing items on the table behind the registers and visit with each other. It was my first time in the store. The customers behind me told me they wished differently, but that this service and treatment is the norm at this store. Definitely not a favorable impression for a first time customer. Doubt we...

I defintely love this store, i dont always find something but its a great place to pop in because you never know when you might find a good buy. I found name brand underwear for $2 each here, which is sold at kohls for $11 (when not on sale or $5 when on sale). Also this can be a great place for toddler shoes, i bought my nephew sketchers on clearance for $6. Not to long ago they started carrying nike brand shoes. They also have a great selection of girl clothes, cute and dressy but not too pricey. Ive seen dresses for girls for less than $15 but at other stores would be an easy $25. Another item I have found there was $15 queen sheet set made by snuggle which was really soft and better quality than other cheaper sheets. Great place to shop...
