I went yesterday to see if I would bring my dog for doggy day camp when me and my boyfriend walked in we were greeted by three dogs behind the counter who started barking and growling and one actually tried to snap at my boyfriend. Moving forward once they came out they said they would take us in the back at our request so we could see where the dogs would be when we walked back there all the dogs were in tiny kennels with no water and nothing to lay on there was not a blanket or bed in sight they were just on pavement hovering in corners and shaking. I was a palled to see that the play area was just a space with no toys no activities just absolutely nothing. The staff looked to be not a day over 20 and went to dog started fighting through the cages they were startled and no one did anything to stop it which made me very hesitant and ask them how many staff members are there per dog when itās play time and they responded one staff member per 25 dogs which again is alarming because if thereās a dog fight I donāt think that these young girls would be able to stop them at all. Leaving I also noticed that none of the dogs were tired they looked like they had more energy than ever and they looked agitated and when they saw their owners they looked like they couldnāt wait to leave not at all what I expected since the reason I would be bringing my dog there is for him to play in so that he be exhausted when he got home and it looks like quite the opposite every single time someone picked up their dog. The worst part is they didnāt seem to be very knowledgeable when my boyfriend would ask them questions in regards to eating in toys and basic concepts that would come along with owning a doggy daycare. Lastly I wouldnāt recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pet itās basically an empty warehouse with tiny cages, zero supervision, no water bowls, no bedding no blankets and no feeling of love or caring for those animals. Iāve never felt so cold walking into a place that is supposed to be filled with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed to give a 1 star review. Iāve recommended folks (including my friends) to use this place for more than a year but rescinding my recommendation now. Wouldnāt recommend this place for any dog owners that have a hyperactive dog. We used this place for over a year and a half and all of a sudden we were told that our dog was too hyperactive. The previous staff were great but none of the new folks are pleasant to talk to. Theyāre rude and condescending for sure. The guy is pleasant and soft spoken but not the staff. We were told only once in the duration that he went there that our dog was too hyper. We havenāt received any serious complaints. neither has anyone called us that our dog was not behaving. And weāve left him overnight there. Yesterday, when we went to pick him up, we were just casually told that heās difficult to control and that we werenāt welcome. I had checked the camera on and off during the day and could see at least 50 other dogs with only 2 people overseeing the dogs. With that amount of dogs in one room, things are bound to get difficult. Our dog has a routine thatās pretty quiet. Heās the only dog at home and usually spends the entire day with me when am working. The environment has definitely changed over time there. More dogs now as compared to when we started. I wouldnāt have chosen to write this review but our dog has been very sad since he returned from this place. He has not slept all night and has not eaten neither has drank water all day. Weāve been snuggling and comforting him all day. He definitely is depressed and am sure weāll fix this over time. Disappointing that this happened to us. This is one time I wished he could talk and tell us what actually...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was traveling very far in the car with my dog and needed a place to leave her for the day. I called a week ahead to make the arrangements for the introduction period on the same day that I needed to leave her for day care. At the drop off the staff were expecting us, and they really helped to keep us both calm despite her being nervous about being left behind after such a long, stressful car ride.
I kept in touch later in the day to find out that she was having lots of fun with the other dogs. The Dog Cabin keeps large/active dogs in one area, large/calm dogs in another, and small dogs in a third. My 34 pound beagle got to play herself to happy exhaustion with the latter 2 groups after sniffing everyone through the fence and then being slowly introduced 1 dog at a time. I think this is an excellent system for feeling out how the dogs will get along and putting them in the most compatible group dynamic. I'm sure it helps that the dogs get at-will access to outdoor areas for doing their business or separating themselves from the group for a breather.
I was very pleased with the whole experience. It broke my heart leaving my pound rescue pup in a small chain link kennel at drop off, like she was going right back where we found each other, but at least it's a very clean kennel and is only used for the first 10 minutes while us nervous owners make our exit. The second time she gets dropped off she might go right into the group, having already been introduced.
And the next time we're in town there WILL be a second time at the Dog Cabin. She had a...
