So I've been curious about Krust for awhile now since some people were telling me how they are the best pizza shop in middletown. I've eaten at one of the other pizza shops on Main st. and their pizza was delicious, so I'm thinking" If this pizza is great Krust's pizza is going to be slammin!" Right? Absolutely not. For one I called and I could barely hear the lady because of all of the noise in the background. She started getting annoyed because I kept asking her to repeat herself but I understood that but everyone hates to sound like I a broken record. so I get it, no biggy. She informs me my pizza should be ready in 15 mins so I make sure I get their right on time because I love my pizza nice and hot straight from the oven. I get home(which is literally around the block from Krust) and the pizza is COLD. Not lukewarm but COLD! I'm already tired from work so I'm like whatever I've eaten cold pizza and microwaved pizza before, no biggy. Pizza looked a little too overdone but I just guessed its from the type of stove they use. Not the case at all! The pizza taste burnt! No other taste but a burnt tart taste. and they had the nerve to charge me $17 bucks and some change! smh. This food is more for people who are already drunk or tipsy. Thats probably why people think its so good. I'm so...
Read moreSo the Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar has highly been suggested on the street in the Southern part of CT. So my girlfriend and I, as well as a few friends decided to try Krust on a Saturday night. The actually bar and how the place appears is quite nice. Our bad experience did not happen until we received our pizza that we ordered. We had ordered the Smoked (which is Roasted Garlic, Smoked Mozzarella, Parmesan, Ricotta *according to their menu) the pizza had look quite delicious. It was not until we had left that my girl friend became violently ill. After we got home and I had another piece of pizza, that is when I notice small pieces of PANCETTA (Bacon aka Pork) all through out the pizza. The reason my girl friend became violently ill from our pizza was the fact that she has not eaten red meat nor pork in over 10 years. This mix up on the bacon has also caused me to sin on my religion since I follow the Jewish Faith. I've tried to contacted the bar manager as well as the owners of the bar on 3 different phone calls. I have still heard no response to my calls, I must say I am very disappointed in how The Krust Pizza & Bourbon Bar handles such serious issues. This experience happen...
Read moreI’m really picky with my pizza, and food in general, and this place has some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! I don’t like the traditional pepperoni greasy family restaurant style pizza. I need my pizza to be non greasy, with tons of toppings, and flavorful - this checks all the boxes and more! Their appetizer menu is unfortunately a bit sparse (it’d be great if this place had wings). But the real star of the show is their pizza. It has a thin crust that is crispy on the outside but yet somehow magically chewy. They also have really good toppings and they allow you to split pizza flavors 1/2 and 1/2 on one pizza. First time I came here I had 1/2 sausage pizza and 1/2 mushroom arugula 😍🍕 next time I had 1/2 cheeseburger (it had a dill aioli, beef, and pickles - surprisingly tasty!) and once again the 1/2 mushroom arugula. They also have a decent local beer menu and the bourbon flights. They have a Nutella pizza too! - pricey for what it is but I enjoyed it too. They should also get more dessert...
