I had a disappointing experience here. There were great reviews on google and food in the pictures looked good. I’m visiting from out of town. I ordered through DoorDash 3 tacos, 2 orders of wings, chips and salsa. Got to the restaurant about 30 minutes later. My food wasn’t ready. I was told by the hostess it would be another 15 minutes. No big deal. I stalled 15 minutes and came back.

The hostess tells me it’s going to be another 30 minutes. At this point, I’m frustrated and I ask to speak to the manager. She claims that she is the manager. I ask her what can be done because I’ve been waiting almost an hour. She tells me that I can cancel my order because the kitchen is backed up. I thought this was a jerk suggestion considering I had already waited so long.

She said that there was a party of 10 who ordered right before me and it’s a small kitchen. None of what she’s saying is making sense. Because has no one gotten any food in an HOUR??? She also said that if I was sitting at the bar, it wouldn’t take as long. (Are takeout orders put at the very back of the line???) I ask whether it’s the wings that are taking longer, because I don’t have to have them. It’s three tacos. Can she not put three tacos ahead of the 10 people order if said taco order was placed an HOUR ago?

Last thing, I get home and my food was not good. The carnitas taco was greasy with the part of the meat that you can’t really chew. I think she did that on purpose. It wasn’t edible. The meat also looked old. The al pastor tacos had a good taste. They could’ve been cooked more to have a little charring on it, but so be it. The BBQ wings were heavily breaded and we were given 5 drums (no flats). They were big and the ones that look like they’ve had some sort of hormones added. The second order of wings were better. Combination of flats and wings. Could’ve been cooked a little longer for crispy skin, but the mango habanero sauce was very tasty.

Overall, this was a terrible experience. I tried it because the food looked good online and they had great ratings. It just wasn’t what I experienced. Poor service, poor food quality. BBQ wings ended up being thrown away because they were undercooked. Carnitas taco wasn’t edible. Would prefer to have never...

My wife and I came on a Friday night. We ordered drinks, the chips and salsa, a jalapeno margarita, a beer and the $38 8-taco sampler plate. The food was incredible, possibly the best Mexican food in Middletown. They had live music and the atmosphere was awesome from the artwork on the walls to the hilarious signs on and in the men's restroom. Everything was fantastic until the bill came. I paid the bill, but then I got to thinking that it seemed a little high for two people and what we ordered. So when the server brought me back my receipt, I went over the charges again. Sure enough, what should have been a two dollar addition charge for rice on my taco plate showed up as a $5 dollar charge. I brought this to the attention of my server as I was leaving. Then the woman behind the bar asked what was going on. The server told the woman behind the bar what the issue was. Then the woman behind the bar looked at me and said "well, you already paid, so..." and just sort of shrugged.

This definitely put me off. Usually when you point out that you were overcharged somewhere you get an apology and a refund. She (the bar lady) could have just reached into the cash register and handed me 3 dollars. And I probably would have just given it to my server. I didn't escalate it because I didn't want to change the vibe of my evening. Instead of feeling happy and fulfilled I left that place...

Only patrons in the restaurant and asked to turn the music down. They did, only to turn it up directly after. This was club music and unnecessary to have so loud being advertised as a sit down, calmer environment. I'm no stranger to Mexican chains/restaurants having grown up going to them... this was just plain rude and unnecessary, just as well - for the waitress and DJ to laugh about it too... The servers were nice and on top about checking in with us but were not clear about additional charges being added on for things. Torta was great; wings did not have much actual meat and were very fatty - other wise alright food for a craving.

Edit: we were there at 9, checked my location tags and my issue is there were no other people in the restaurant. When it started blasting around 9:40... there was no warning and when it was asked to get turned down, it got turned right back up. I appreciate the DJ apologizing. However, he did approach us outside where my friends and I were talking but the point remains had the reviews not been left, the experience was the same. This establishment isn't right for us with that behavior, no need to respond. We won't be returning. Have a great day and I hope this review helps reflect some needed changes with personnel and adjustments for clarification...

This was our first visit on a Saturday night. We sat at the bar. I had a ice cold Negra Modelo in the bottle it's also served on tap. This is a small low lit restaurant with Mexican music playing in the background. I remember coming here when it was an Italian restaurant. It's been updated. My dinner of choice was a Crunchwrap normally found at Taco Bell. This was nothing like TB's version just a whole lot tastier and larger. Don't just go by their online menu the restaurant version is better with more choices. Pay attention to the specials posted on the walls. They have some great deals during the week. Looking forward to going back again. I went there again and had a steak burrito and helped them empty the Negra Modelo keg.

I went for the birria tacos. They were delicious! (The flavor was good, but I felt it needed a little more spice and salt. But I am a naturally salty person) I am a Mexican person from LA and I am really missing my food, and this place satisfied my craving..I got a torta (it was 17$though!!) It was very good, but the price was a little high. My margarita was so delicious as well. I can't wait to go again. One thing though, the place looks super sketchy from the outside. I actually tried going there 2 weeks ago, but I left when I saw the location. The restaurant looks closed and empty from the outside, but inside it's small and cozy. Very nice and very friendly workers.
