If I could give this establishment no stars I would. I had one of the worst retail experiences here in my life. I purchased a wedding ring at a different location and had a great experience. With the service plan, you have your ring examined every six months to ensure all diamonds are secure and the ring is in good repair. I was utilizing this store in the milford mall because I work and live in that direct vicinity. I brought my ring in at the end of September to be serviced for my anniversary. The service being performed was evening out the prongs on the top of my ring which was uneven and sharp from their previous servicing on the ring. When I went to pick the ring up for my anniversary trip the side of the ring was warped and metal was bent over my diamonds. I asked what happened and everyone in the store, including the general manager, acted like it was a huge shock. Do they inspect their merchandise before calling a guest to retrieve their jewelry? No apology, just said they would send it out again. I needed it in a week in time for my anniversary. I was supposed to receive a call the day before my trip to pick it up and never got a call. I called myself and they mentioned it was there but I had to come take a look at it. They would not give me any other information over the phone which really made me nervous and upset. I arrived at the store to a still damaged ring. Better, but still damaged. The general manager then stated that the ring came in the previous day and no one had bothered to call me or notify me on the damage. She also took the liberty of ordering me a new wedding ring without even talking with me first. I contacted corporate and have dealt with them and this store from the end of September until yesterday, January 8th. After saying I just wanted my money back for the ring and going through investigations (in which the repair shop BLAMED ME FOR THE DAMAGE and the store dropped the ball and did not properly take before or after photos of the ring) they offered me a replacement ring at a higher value since my wedding ring that I was married with could not be repaired. I accepted and ordered the same ring, just a better quality. When I went to pick up my BRAND NEW RING it felt like a piece of tin compared to my other, the prongs on top weâre all uneven and sharp, and there was a scratch right on top of the white gold surrounding the diamonds. When I asked what happened I was told they could buff it out. I didnât doubt they could, but the fact of the matter is that ring should have came to me perfect. Once again, not one apology, no sympathy, and I felt like I was being judged as being over dramatic. Is it not standard for a store to inspect their products especially before calling a guest to receive an item worth thousands of dollars? And especially after the history of this situation. At the end of this story, I have no ring, and was issued a refund. Nothing more than sticker price. I was told on a couple occasions that I was being done a courtesy because I was out of the normal 60 day return policy. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Spend your money at an establishment you can trust. This goes for all Kay jewelers as well as their corporate office. Every staff member in milford was unapologetic, rude and insincere. I started looking for an engagement and wedding ring in the beginning of January. I just missed the holiday sale so the prices were back to normal until valentines.
That was when I met Joram. He was polite and well articulated. He helped me find a set that was perfect for me.
I wasn't ready to commit yet bc of the prices so Joram said he will give me a call when there is a sale. A few days later he called me. He was able to get a deal, basically reducing it to holiday sale prices.
Needless to say, I am very happy with the rings, and so is my Fiance!
