What I did wrong was go to the location in Orange first. That was my first time in an ocean state job lot and it set the standard pretty high for me. So walking into this location I was severely irked. Right off the bat, the parking lot was sad. Faded lines, construction pile of rocks, garbage. But I needed more compression socks and this location is so much closer to me. So I went in. First, the smell smacked me in the face. I'm thinking maybe it's the bags of soil?? They might have some fertilizer. I'm going to assume that's it, and that is not their regular smell. The place was just dirty and had visibly disorganized shelves. I went through every aisle. They certainly still have an abundance of products. And items I don't see at other places. Lots of unpacked boxes out that workers needed to unload and shelve. i had to move one out of the way to see what was on the shelf. I found my socks and grabbed as many as were hanging. Then saw some in an unloaded box, but left them for the next person! Grabbed a few packs of candy, some almonds. The only checkout that was open was the customer service area. I tried to make small talk with the girl but she wasn't having it. I'm okay with that, it was like 8pm probably. I get it! All in all,I give a 3 because it's just okay. if I just need something quick that I know they carry, I would go here bc it's just conveniently close. But if I'm looking to really have a shopping experience, Orange is the one....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEarly today I visited the OSJL in Milford, CT. Once I completed selecting my items, I made my way to the check out area. The āService or Customer Service laneā was long so I walked over to the next shortest line. After a few moments, the next lane over opened up and since the person in front of me did not make a move towards it, I did. I was rudely greeted by a young gentleman asking if I was in the main line. I asked him what he was referenced because I was in line here, pointed in the lane over. He stated that there was one line for all 6 registers and I needed to be in the line. After looking around to see if I was being punked. But he was dead serious. There are ZERO indicators of this process and had it been the case, I wouldāve joined the one line. Anyway, I make my way over to the ālineā and by the time I get there, the register I was standing in line, called me over to check out.
While I understand there are processes, policies, and procedures, this needs to be clearly explained with some sort of signage or markers. It was rude and unnecessary to speak to me in that manner since I am not an employee and donāt know their processes.
Lastly, while I was checking out, he did the same thing to someone else. Just an FYI my young male cashier, if a patron sees a long line and several other lines are shorter, it is instinctual to make our ways over to the shorter line to get...
