Kind of bummed.
This appears to be the only store in town that accommodates salt water spa systems. I came in today because I’m a first-time spa owner and am a bit overwhelmed with the basics of balancing the chemicals in my spa, let alone a salt water system. The gentleman who greeted me didn’t seem particularly interested in assisting me and was more keen to return to answering the questions of another patron who appeared to be buying a spa. I would have been more than happy to wait my turn or even return at a more convenient time. He wasn’t unkind or impolite. Just… disinterested… beyond dipping a testing strip in the sample I brought (which was appreciated). He cited an unfamiliarity with my particular spa, told me to call them, and sent me on my way.
I wasn’t there to ask how to operate the spa itself. I was there to figure out how to balance my chemicals, with the intention of developing a relationship with this store, purchase additional chemicals I might have needed, and - down the line - upgrade my spa. I was asking for fundamentally basic instruction (such as: dilute, add this or that chemical to change this level), not which button to push on the spa.
Admittedly, I looked a bit scruffy today and I generally look young for my age. I don’t think I should have to dress like the middle-aged trial attorney that I am to get attentive customer assistance. I hope that’s not the reason I was quickly scooted out, but I’m otherwise racking my brain as to why I wasn’t assisted in a way to cultivate a longer-term customer relationship. We have been a loyal hot springs customer for over 10 years and after waiting almost 11 months to get a new cover, then paying for water care followed by a service visit to only be told that our repair would cost almost $1k we were a little surprised and disappointed. We contacted the Service Dept as feel like we were being misguided of the repairs that were needed and that the service tech who came out did not have the best bed side manner. We were so miffed, that we were ready to even get rid of of hot tub that had been carefully maintained. We called to cancel our valet service and ask for any compensation and there is a difference of opinion on what is manufacturer suggested versus what happened. In the end, we contacted another supplier and with their help understood the tub only required a “jumper pressure switch” by Watkins Wellness, a $40 part. You can imagine our disappointment in feeling like Oregon Hot Springs misrepresented us and the lack of dis-honesty involved.
We related this information to the service department by phone to pass along to the Service Manager as we envision we will not see any money back and have not moved on to another business to continue helping us with our Spa and if in the need of a new one, or other service will now use their service as Oregon Hot Spring lost of business due to the poor service that we received for helping us get our spa up and running without...
Read moreI have been waiting to write this review because I not only wanted to comment on Oregon Hot Tub’s service, but also their product quality. My wife and I purchased a Grandee model hot tub 1 year ago from the Clackamas location and Dale Carper was the sales person who helped us out. I can’t speak highly enough regarding how helpful Dale was right from the moment we walked in the front door. Dale was informative, friendly, personable and knowledgeable, while not being pushy. Before selling us the hot tub, Dale made a special trip to our home to consult us on what location would be best and how best to prep the location. He also made himself completely available after the sale to answer the many questions we had. The 4 young men who delivered the hot tub were also very professional and careful with the installation. The tub itself has worked flawlessly, after some additional adjustments a month or so after the initial installation. As well, the assistance and response we received from the service department regarding these adjustments was prompt and professional. I know this tub is not the cheapest in town, but I’m a believer in getting what you pay for, and so far, after one year of use, we could not be happier with it and with Oregon Hot Tub.
