I’ve been eating here about every other week for a couple of months now and I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, and the portions are big - I always bring home leftovers when I eat here.
The atmosphere is clean, modern, stylish, and chill. It’s never too busy - in the entire time I’ve been eating here, I’ve only had to wait to be seated once, and it wasn’t for very long. They are also quick to deliver your food after ordering. Also, this place seems very popular for takeout, as there are always delivery drivers trickling in to pick up orders.
My go-to dish here is the Classic Pad Thai Lover with the wide noodles. I personally get it with mixed veggies, because I like my dishes to have a little bit more variety in it, and it’s excellent.
I’m a huge crag rangoon lover, and here they’re pretty good. The actual wrapper is unique to other rangoons I’ve had - slightly salty, textured, and very crunchy - but delicious. They also have the strongest crab-flavor of any rangoons I’ve had, but it’s not over the top and it’s great.
I also have found a new favorite recently - the sweet and sour stirfy. The sweet and sour sauce isn’t as sweet or tangy as sweet and sour sauce you’d get to dip like wontons in, but that’s a good thing - it’s a main sauce, not a side. It’s not overly sweet, and it’s got a nice tang that isn’t too strong initially and then has a very pleasant aftertaste. It has pineapple in it, and I almost asked them to take it out, as I don’t like the taste of cooked pineapple generally, but I’m glad that I didn’t and that I left it in - it added a wonderful flavor/complement to the dish.
Overall I highly recommend this place, and if you’re a fan of Thai food then this...
Read moreThis place is great, plain and simple. I've been comin here for almost 10 years. Arawan is a small family owned place, the food is ALWAYS good and so is the service. Luckily they opened up a second location in Vancouver, because it's so popular -but even when it's busy they do an excellent job of turning tables over- although I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seated.
Prices are very reasonable, portions are big, but not ridiculous and the space is super clean (including he bathrooms). The restaurant as a whole, had a very open floor plan, with an entire wall of windows, and you can even partially see the cooks prepare your food - and man do those ladies know what they're doing. The food is consistently wonderful, and there is a great selection.
Lastly, although it may sound like a frivolous/meaningless detail, thier Thai ice tea is delicious, inexpensive and they have the best ICE! Ice of all things? I know, but is crushed and small and for some reason I like it better. (See photograph below of Thai iced tea, and chicken pad Thai- I know the most boring Thai dish you can get- but it sounded good today.) I've tried just about everything in the menu, Pad Sei Ew, Pad Phet, Masuman Curry, thier lettuce wraps are to die for, I could go on. It's all great!
Al the end of the day, It's my favorite place to bring visiting friends/family, or just grab a quick lunch. It's affordable, clean, the staff is friendly and the food is consistently delicious. I am so grateful I have this restaurant in my community, and to show my gratitude, I frequent...

I appreciate the option of #9 Can't Decide for $13 when you literally can't decide what appetizer to get so you pick any three from the appetizers menu.
Can't Decide, $13: satay chicken, veggies egg rolls, and veggies spring rolls. The satay chicken comes with 3 dipping sauces: fresh diced cucumber and red onion was too sweet for me, I didn't care for the sweet chili sauce because I know it comes from a bottle, the yellow curry with diced garlic or peanut I can't recall exactly now was actually paired very well with the satay chicken and veggies spring rolls. The fried veggies egg rolls were a bit salty for my preference.
Papaya Salad, $12: the dressing sauce was a bit on the sweeter side for my taste. All ingredients were fresh and crunchy with each bite. The spicy level came with it was just right I'm the middle of the scale. If you want more than average heat, ask for extra spicy. This was actually the first Thai restaurant I went for a while that didn't ask me for my spicy level.
Thai Iced Coffee, small 16oz, $4.50: tasted just right with no overly sweetness.
