I had an issue with an All-Clad Copper Core pan I purchased online and picked up at the Edina location. The pan was warped from the factory. After checking their stock, they noticed the others were defective as well. I checked for locations that stocked this item and found this store. When I called Ruth was quick to take my information and call me back after locating a pan that was not defective (this should not take place with All-Clad or William-Sonoma). After I explain the situation and that I would be making in exchange her attitude completely change. She advised me it would be best to return the defective pan to the Edina location and pick up the new one there. She told me about their policy and that their store would have to take a hit for the return and she would not get credit for the sale. Quickly, the focus became on her, the sales person not getting credit for the sale and not taking care of the customer. There was no part of the conversation after that point where she was focused on the customers service. Towards the end of the conversation, when I was explaining I would just return the pan because I was getting frustrated and did not want to do business with them anymore. She hung up on me. I called back and talk to Sue the assistant manager. After again, reiterating their policy and why their employees would try to sway us to be inconvenienced to benefit their store. She did end up making the exchange. At the end of the transaction, I was able to get my pan exchanged but not after going through great inconvenience. I will never step foot in this location again, and will always put Williams-Sonoma at the bottom of the list when looking for quality products when other competitors like Crate & Barrel have offered exceptional service. I expect a lot more out of this company than...
Read moreMy husband has started a collection of Wüsthof knives for me. He typically purchases at a competitor who has provided great customer service over the years. He purchased my Christmas gifts several months in advance, as he always does due to our business's fall travel schedule. He purchased from Williams-Sonoma because he was in the area of one of their stores. He mistakenly purchased a knife I already have. I opened his gifts this morning. We decided to go right away to exchange the knife. I already had the one picked out that I wanted. They refused to do the exchange because we were past the exchange window. We had the original receipt, the item in its original, unopened packaging, and I wanted to exchange for a more expensive item. For a high-end store, this is extremely poor service. As owners of a retail business, we always provide the highest level of service and work with our customers to exceed their expectations, even if it means flexing our policy. Customer service has obviously been lost or overlooked at Williams-Sonoma. We will spend our money elsewhere and share our poor experience with our friends and fellow...
Read moreShopping for a gift for my mother, no idea what to get her when Robert approach's and asks if he can help. Not only did he steer me toward an amazing gift idea, he spent 15 minutes wrapping it because he overheard my daughter and I talking about meeting my mother at the mall for dinner and he wanted to ensure she had a bountiful gift.
This is where it goes to the next level: We forgot a small box of popcorn on the counter amongst the big boxes of gifts and didn't realize it. An hour latter while were wrapping up dinner with the family Robert shows up at our table with the box of popcorn we had forgotten. He searched EVERY restaurant in Ridgedale mall on a Friday night to find us..... Every Restaurant. He had already blown us away with his help in the store and taking care to wrap our gifts......but WOW.
William Sonoma is an excellent store but this review is really for Robert and his above and...
