Thank you Ulta in Minot for reminding me why I shop exclusively at Sephora. I came in today and it was NOT busy. I was NOT greeted and I did need help finding something. I was ignored by all the associates in the store, to include the manager, I guess the manager's upcoming work trip was far too important to talk about after finding out you could bring a friend than to help little old me. After wandering around for about 20 minutes I took what I could find by myself to the register. An associate fresh off the clock cut in front of me and the manager rang her out while barking orders at her asking if she clicked out on time and did she do her duties. Finally I was checked out, the manager still barking orders at the associate ringing me up. No good bye, thanks for coming in...NOTHING. receipt in the bag? is all I got.    Read moreI went into to Ulta to purchase my wife's shampoo. While checking out by cashier Kaitlyn, she ask for my phone number. I told her no thanks, then she asked again. I said I don't have one then Kaitlyn ask for a phone number of someone who I know shops at Ulta. I told her again no thanks.
I have never seen a business so pushy about this. I don't want your membership or my data to my sold.
Finally Kaityln check me out only after belittling me about how I am not providing a phone number and I won't be able to return the items.
I said thank you for the receipt and she silently turn around while ignoring me.
This is unacceptable, let a customer purchase someone without giving my personal details.
Carters in the same mall didn't bat an eye when I said no thanks when ask my number.

Then a few days before the event I went in the Ulta app to double check the time of the appointment and it showed no appointment existed. I went into the store the next day and spoke with the manager and she looked it up and said I was booked with an employee who quit weeks ago. So I asked her if they could get me in with someone else since the event was the next day. She said they had no one working that weekend and was like sorry she only gave us a two day notice. Where was my notice? Where was my notice of cancellation of appointment so I could have had time to book somewhere else? This was incredibly unprofessional and rude. No resolution was offered.
