I am so disappointed, I love antiques and vintage things but I did not feel comfortable in this store at all. I don’t know if this is a normal protocol but 2 of the men in the store kept following me around, the 2 men that worked there. 1 old man and 1 middle aged man, they kept following me around the store making rounds, I don’t know how normal this is because it was my first time coming here so who knows but it made me feel like they thought I was trying to steal things. I have my own money and to be honest I only liked a couple things in this store, I don’t think anything in there was worth stealing or going to jail over LOL. Anyways I found 1 thing I liked and it was a Sonny angel, it was fake as I already knew but I still wanted it so I head to the register and this middle aged- older woman with blonde hair stared at me for a long time, she had such a nasty look, she looked disgusted looking at me so I looked back at her and she broke the stare. This really made me feel uncomfortable, I don’t know what her problem is, I’m just a regular person trying to buy something. I’m thinking it was because I was Hispanic, I felt super unwelcomed there and I don’t think I’ll ever come back unless these people change their attitudes. What’s funny is, I didn’t even speak a word to any of them so I don’t know why I got this type of treatment. Is it because I’m young and hot or because I’m Hispanic and I’m not white? It’s 2025 get over yourselves....
Read moreI used to LOVE coming here BUT had an unpleasant experience the last time I was there. I bought one small thing for under $20, presented my tax and dealer info (which should have been on file). Apparently it frustrated the salesperson and she made a snippy comment, "All that for $15". That little comment was a BIG turn off. When I am in the area, I always stop and shop here- never leaving with empty hands. This time (and the others) I brought a couple of friends who bought also. However we will not be stopping back in because of the salesperson's negative attitude. I don't care if I'm only spending $2, a salesperson should just smile and say "thank you". Also, to top it off, when I pulled the item out of the bag, she had wrapped it in one single sheet of paper and the glass was broken. Since it was a glass terrarium, this renders it useless. Poor, poor, service, but still great stuff- and I can't complain about that! Unfortunately, it still upset me enough not to...
Read moreThis place is wildly overpriced, and a shocking number of items look like cheap knock-offs. Consider this your warning: buyer beware.
On top of that, the older man at the counter was rude with a condescending attitude. When I asked about a discount, he delivered a paper-thin excuse about how it could only apply if a single item was over $100 — even though I was about to spend well over that amount with the same vendor.
His “take it or leave it” stance was arrogant and short-sighted. He clearly assumed I’d cave and buy anyway. Big mistake — I walked out.
What’s worse is that his attitude isn’t just costing him business — it’s doing a huge disservice to his vendors, stripping them of the chance to make their own deals. No wonder this place is FAR behind in reviews while other antique shops in Destin are thriving with higher ratings and...
