My husband and I had been wanting to get a new chair for our living room, and a friend of ours had just purchased two recliners from La-Z-Boy. The last thing we wanted was a recliner that looked like a recliner that our parents had. Our friend had the same thought when they purchased theirs, and she assured us that they have recliners that don’t look like recliners. We took her her suggestion and drove to La-Z-Boy in Mission Viejo, where we were immediately greeted by Pam King. We let her know what we were looking for, and that we were looking for the same non-recliner looking recliner as our friends have. She looked up their name, and showed us the floor model they had purchased. Pam also noticed that my husband was tall, and that particular chair was not going to be a good fit. She showed us several chairs with a taller back, that would be more comfortable for a taller person, and one in particular, the BRENTWOOD HIGH LEG RECLINER, was exactly what we were looking for. The style, comfort, and price, fit us perfectly, and next was fabric selection. There are tons of fabric to select from, of which many fit our homes color scheme. Pam was excellent with her suggestions, and very patient, as we pined over several color and pattern choices. We had not brought a pillow or anything from home to match colors, so we had to rely on visual memory. We selected 6 fabric swatches, and took them home to see if we could match any with our homes color schemes. When we got home, 5 of the 6 swatches were obviously not going to work. The one sample remaining was good, but we thought there might be others. The next day, we went back to see if we could find anything else that might have escaped our initial selections, and we also brought a pillow from our couch, to get better match. We saw Pam, and she immediately greeted us again, and helped us look for other possibilities. We found a few more, took them home, and decided on 1 more fabric choice. After careful analysis, we decided on one, and went back to the store, confident that we had selected the right one. When we arrived, Pam was in a meeting, and we were greeted by Sydney, a very personable and friendly young woman, and also very knowledgeable about La-Z-Boy products. We showed her our fabric choice, and she asked if we would like to see it on a chair. After seeing this chair, it was obvious it wasn’t going to work, and she showed us a chair with the other fabric choice (original favorite), and that was the winner and the one we fell in love with. Sydney told us she showed us the chairs because of how those particular fabric choices appear on our chair selection. Both Pam and Sydney were so helpful and professional in their dealings with us, and we are quite confident that we will be very happy for years to come. Read moreMy sales person was wonderful she really did a good job helping me oh I went back in on 30 August or 29 August order to get to to buy my piece of furniture with free delivery that’s when I started asking questions. Like what if I get into my house and I don’t like it what if it’s broken when I receive it in those types of questions that you do when you purchase something. The manager I’m guessing came over and was telling me all of the rules of returning and that if I wasn’t sure I wanted something I shouldn’t purchase it. This I found to be insulting. Because I had come back to specifically purchase the item. Then they told me that the item I wanted is not at the warehouse and it will be the end of September until I get it. Fine then they told me that since it’s not in the warehouse it is a special order and has different rules for returning and repair. I found that this part of your policy is ridiculous. I am purchasing a piece of finished furniture and whether or not it is in your warehouse or not should not change what am I can do or not do with the piece of furniture when I want to return it if I want to return it. I think that piece of your Policy needs to be changed it’s not my fault at the piece is not in the warehouse and that does not make a special order on my part. That is why you got a three star. Carrie greeted us when we entered, explained how everything is customizable, then left us alone to look, which I appreciated. Everything was high quality. After discovering that they also offered reclining chairs, which did not look like typical recliners at all, we decided to also shop for those. We shopped for an hour, and Carrie checked in on us again to answer our many questions. She also happily demonstrated different mattresses, and how to open and close the sofa-bed. Finally, we were ready to order a sofa-bed loveseat, a large ottoman with storage, and two reclining wing-back chairs. Next, my husband and I had to agree on upholstery from a huge rack of choices. Carrie listened to each of our preferences, and helped us find things we could agree on. She then used a computer and showed us our chosen pieces, arranged as they would be in our home. I have never felt more confident with a furniture purchase! Carrie was amazing! Because of the customization, the furniture is built for you, and takes 6 to 8 weeks to be delivered.
