The first photo shows what I was left with. The second is the reference photo I showed Shaterra, and the third is my hair before the cut.
I had some breakage at the back of my head, and I specifically asked for layers to help make it less noticeable. I made it very clear that I didnât want my hair any shorter than shoulder length. Iâd been growing it out for two years, and I didnât want the breakage in one area to undo all my progress. Unfortunately, it did. She cut my hair to half way up my neck, cutting off 7 inches in total, completely disregarding what I asked for. In
Not only did she ignore the length I wanted, but she also did nothing else I asked for. No layersâjust a blunt, straight-across cut. What Iâm left with is a chunky, unflattering bob.
This experience has completely shattered my confidence. I paid $45 for something I specifically didnât want, and now Iâll have to spend even more money on products to speed up the growth process. Iâm devastated and heartbroken. I donât even want to leave my house.
Shaterraâs apology was insincere, claiming there was âmiscommunication,â and that âas a stylist, thatâs what she understood was âbestâ for my hair.â As a stylist, she should have communicated what she thought would look best before cutting my hairânot after. I didnât pay her to do what she thought was best without my consent; I paid her to do what I asked, and this result couldnât be further from that.
When I started crying because I was so devastated over my hair, she asked me what I didnât like. I told her it was way too short. Then, in a condescending tone, she asked me to tell her what I did like about the haircut. What kind of question is that? I didnât have an answer because there was nothing I liked about it.
She followed up by rudely asking, âWhat else is wrong?â I was so overwhelmed that I couldnât pinpoint it in the moment, but now I realize it was the lack of layers that was really bothering me. When I said, âI donât know,â she responded with a snarky, âWELL, then Iâll have XYZ check you out at the counter,â with an attitude that seemed to imply, âSee? Thereâs nothing else you donât like, so itâs really not that bad.â
There were no other customers in the storeâit was just the two of usâyet she rushed off to the back, as if my concerns didnât matter. She was dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional. Iâm absolutely disgusted by the way I was treated.
I also had halo extensions that I couldâve worn with my hair, but now theyâre useless. The cut is so blunt that Iâd have to trim my hair even more to blend with the extensions, and I just donât have enough hair left to cut. This is a nightmare. I want my money back, but honestly, a refund wonât give me back my confidence or...
Read morePurchased a Groupon for a haircut, head massage or hair treatment. The stylist did not ask me what I wanted the end result to look like. She aid hello and then I went straight to get my hair washed, which was a little concerning. I did ask for a gloss as well on the day, which she did, but she had trouble locating this. After the wash, conditioner and gloss which was very pleasant, I was taken to the chair to get my hair cut and styledâŚhowever, she started putting clips in as if to dry and I had to say âI also booked a hair cutâ. She seemed taken back - I then showed her the photo of how I wanted it cut, but she basically cut nothing and after the blow out I looked on the floor and there were only 2 or 3 tiny stands of hair! She also burnt my hair with the hair dryer being too hot and I had to ask her to turn the heat down. She was rather rough also with my fine hair. The end result looked nice and my hair felt smooth - but no hair cut, which is what I desperately needed. I was also never offered the option of either the head massage or hair treatment which I had paid forâŚas she really did not communicate with me at all. Never asked what style I wanted my hair cut - of course that didnât happen, or how I wanted my blow out to lookâŚthe lady on the front desk was very friendly and helpful when I checked out and told her what had happened. I did get the add on gloss free, but I did not get the most important part - a hair cut or head massage or hair conditioning treatment. A lovely looking and very clean salon with a very friendly and helpful lady in receptionâŚbut none of that takes away from my experience unfortunately, so will definitely not...
Read more10/10!! I have found MY PLACE! I feel horrible for not catching my stylist's name but when I tell you this woman SLAYED my hair. She was so attentive and friendly. I asked for big and bouncy curls but before we get to the styling, I have to tell you - this was the best hair wash I have ever experienced. She really got in there and got all the hair product and oils I had in my hair. My scalp has never felt so clean. I have had a series of bad blowouts so I was really praying that this place would be a jackpot win. And, it was! Styling of my hair was outstanding, she blow dried it, curled and made sure I had the volume I wanted without weighing it down with so much product or teasing it. My hair lasted 1 WHOLE WEEK and felt healthier than ever without getting oily or weighed down. I did use the overnight velvet rods to preserve the style but I had volume in my hair all week and I am so happy about that. I was in and out in about an hour and felt incredible. Highly recommend getting a blowout here. I will say, parking in this area can get a bit tight so you may want to arrive a few minutes early to ensure you get a spot without running behind. Aside from that, I had no issues. I cant...
