We are 1 month away from our wedding and required a suit for my cousin for our wedding. We went to Mens Wearhouse 2 times in 48 hours and two very different experiences. The first experience was positive and helpful the young woman and man that helped us were very kind and attentive and told us to bring my cousin back for measurements and to try on pants for size. They also helped my father with sizes for his pants and suit jacket. I did not catch their names but they were great.
The experience that is leaving me baffled is when we brought my cousin in a day later for sizing. The young woman acted as though she did not want to touch him or help him in any way. She did not want look up suits closer in our area to see if maybe there was more size availability in CA where we live. She seemed to have an issue with assisting a black man, I could tell her colleague picked up on her resistance and tried to recover the situation but by then I was upset and stated we would leave and try to find another store that would be willing to assist us.
My cousin is far from a threat and the sweetest kid, he was nothing but kind and respectful and for this young woman to act this way was disturbing and unnecessary. We had already purchased my fathers suit but I refused to patron further. I am not pleased with the actions of this employee and...
Read moreI made an appointment online 2 weeks ago for my fiancé and I. I was expecting someone to call or at least send me a email letting me know our appointment was confirmed. I never heard from anyone so I decided to call 3 days before our scheduled appointment to verify. I was told they had our appointment in the computer. In my mind I'm thinking, that's great but also thinking why didn't anyone from the store call us to confirm our appointment? 🤔. Anywho, fast forward to our appointment day. My fiancé and I arrived on time. We walked in and the store was packed!! One of the workers told us she would be right with us to help but we continued to wait. We kept waiting until another worker finally came to help us. I told her we had a 12pm appointment and she proceeded to help us but only for a few minutes. Shortly after she walked us to the table, I'm assuming a lady who was the Manager told the girl who was helping us that another group of ppl were here before us. So the girl that was helping us immediately left us and help another group! I am very disappointed in Men's Wearhouse. They do not follow there own policy with appointments!! The salesman was not friendly and never asked if he could assist while I was browsing and looking at sizes. However, when a man entered that did not look like me… he immediately asked if he could assist. Meanwhile I had been looking for over 10 min. After purchasing a $70 tie on my way out he didn’t hesitate to say bye! The salesman on the floor seemed to stereotype me for whatever reason. I am on vacation and was dressed exceptionally casual, however that should not have anything to do with my treatment. I will NOT be going back to this store in Mobile, Al.
