D&T Bel-air Doughboy Pizza — Restaurant in Mobile

First, Tan, the owner, is the most delightful lady. I am sincerely grateful for having the opportunity to meet and talk with her.

Second, she didn't just go out of her way to make our first experience a pleasure she did so for everyone that she interacted with after helping us. She is a total gem.

Next, her operation was spotless. I worked in food industry a long time and know what to look for and her chef was game on with clean.

Now for the food. I'd give it 4.5 out of 5. This is specific to my background and I should point out I normally only eat pizza Neapolitan from Chicago and from fire ovens. If you're a robust flavor pizza eater expect to add a little of what you need to make that pop happen the way YOU like. For the vast majority the flavors will be very pleasurable.

Crust was good, prep was solid, flavor for my level needed just a tick more but don't misunderstand. The pizza is good. I am a bit of a snob in this arena. However, I would absolutely recommend trying.

Last, they have some unique creations that will cause me to return for the experience.

Stop in and give it a shot. I think lunch would be perfect on the fly as well. They had it ordered and prepped...

One word: WOW.

First, I was greeted by the wonderful owner who walked me through the menu without me asking. She was also telling me how they JUST opened up on November 1st. I wanted to write an honest review for them because I found this place on google maps/reviews.

Then, we finalized the order and she made the pizza in less than 8 minutes but everything was fresh, and I could see what she was adding to the pizza (ie open kitchen, which I love). The dough is imported from Italy AND YOU CAN TELL!

Finally, the actual pizza was AMAZING! I got “The Bernie” and it had the perfect mix of meat and veggies, and the sauce was so beautifully refreshing/lite/thin!! And taste and texture of the pizza was AMAZING and the dough held its shape even with all the toppings and it had the PERFECT amount of crunch. Like seriously yall!!!

It’s a very short walk from the entrance of the mall, so it’s nicely located. I’m so so so...

Such a great place as long as you don't mind the few extra minutes for the fresh experience. We got the BBQ pizza that I don't remember the name it's actually called but WOW! Talk about flavor I've been craving it ever since and can't wait to go back for more. The pepperoni was delicious to you can taste the freshness and it's not heavy like most pizza. It's asuch a light fresh experience without missing any flavor or satisfaction of pizza night.
