Shoppes at Bel Air — Local services in Mobile

Needed to get some SEC conference shirts for a dinner on Saturday. I happened to remember the store at Bel-Air mall that sold such items. We decided to go there after we got off. Got to the mall, and of course being Friday night the parking later was packed, we were able to find a handicapped accessible parking spot and parked in it. The last time we were there they had a pizza shop called Grimaldi's, it seems to have gone out of business and is being replaced by a Mexican restaurant. P.F. Changs is still there though. We went inside and found plenty of security and regular PD walking the mall. Found our store and did our shopping. While there we decided to.try some of the restaurants available. Ate dinner at the Mandarin Express, very good selection of items and decently priced. Then had a pretzel from Auntie Anne's, also very good. While eating we sat and people watched, neat thing to do, and noticed that between the time I grew up, the mall rat era where you were dropped off by parents and left to walk the mall for hours with friends, and now there are more families. That could be due to a change in policies, but it was nice to see parents in the mall with their kids. Then before we left we had dessert at the Cinnabon, had the 4 minis and a iced mocha coffee. They tasted great. Enjoyed our date night and seeing all the families and enjoyed all food places we chose to go. Will be back to enjoy them and have another...

MGK Shoe Cleaner Hustlers in the middle of the Mall are ridiculous. Bought a cleaning kit, before opening the product I looked at reviews online to discover that this product destroys shoes according to reviews. I was not going to use them on My Louis Vuitton trainers, or Gucci Canvas High-tops after reading that. I then went back to return the product and they stated no receipt not returns, luckily I used American Express Blue that supplied a receipt through square they used o charge my card. I then talked to "fred" via the kiosk attendants phone and he stated no refunds I stated that the receipt said no such thing and I needed to return the product. He gave the refund reluctantly while still trying to sell the products abilities. He then stated that they will putting up a sign that say no refunds. Note it wasonly15 minutes of me purchasing the product that I made the return. Do your research on Google about MGK shoe cleaner.

Beautifully continuing to reinvent itself. Love the new artsy look and jazz music playing. The new modern fountain with its beautiful blue/white hanging sculpture above, and the orange/silver hanging sculpture near the front are lovely. Can't believe you lost the pizza place and the coffee shop. And what happened to the public pianos? Glad there is a new sit-down Mexican restaurant. Thank goodness for PF Chang's. Continue efforts to keep family-friendly and safe. Need: new coffee shop, community events, a bookstore, re-do of back hall by Target, more stuff for kids, like the play areas in most major city malls, more for elders, like diners. Fill those empty stores! New entrance and palm trees look great, too. Mall mgmt. needs to opt for police presence bc they have training, experience and power. Mobile and Baldwin, support your only in-door mall in this subtropical climate (hot and 2nd rainiest city). It's about THE MALL experience....
