JCPenney — Local services in Mokena

My family and I were visiting this store last week on Saturday, looking for appliances. I did not get the name of the gentleman that was assisting us, but I wanted to say how thankful we were for his courtesy. My pregnant wife was looking at a microwave when another customer abruptly interrupted and asked her to please keep her hands off of “her” microwave. We were somewhat taken back by this as the microwave we were looking at was still hanging on the wall for display. The salesman explained to us that all of the appliances sold are display units only, and the customer who confronted us was a customer who was there to purchase that unit. He apologized if we were offended in any way by her and stated that she was a very nice lady who is just a little frustrated that the salesperson she had originally spoken to wasn’t working that day. He assured us that he would do everything he could help us once he finished helping them out. We appreciated his comments and decided to wait for him to finish the sale at a distance. After witnessing this man continue to be treated with utter disrespect for a lengthy period of time, we decided it was best to visit this store at another time. It is because of the very kind service this man displayed for a customer who was clearly undeserving, we will be back to purchase...

Went in to get something for merchandise credit. Went to JCP beauty. Found a forever 21 lip gloss for 50% off and they didn’t honor it. Said it was left from Black Friday, and I came in 1/6/25. Sloppy on them and they did not honor it. Will not be coming back to this store. Employee then looked at me like I was crazy for saying it was 50% off. I work at Sephora and this was a horrible experience. Employee also did not give me or direct me to makeup wipe remover so I had it still on my hand from swatches. I had to find it myself and I asked for a coin to scratch a pin on the merchandise card. She proceeded to ignore me and I had to use my car key on it. Horrible experience. Do not shop here. I like the sales and the assortment. There are always a lot on clearance and good sales. I find a lot of cute clothes with good prices. However, with Covid going on, even without Covid, I should be able to shop without the workers standing right on top of me. I was trying to pick out a cute sweater on sale yesterday and this worker literally was standing right next to me trying to fold the sweaters as I was looking through them! I asked her if that area was closed and she just looked at me and said no. I just thought the whole thing was strange. The manager should talk to workers about how to act when there are customers.
