They have a program where if you buy 1oz silver bar every month that at the end of a year you get a “free” 1oz bar. What they don’t tell you is that each month when you buy a bar they add an extra $2-$3 on top of the $5 per ounce over spot that they charge so it’s $7-$8 over spot. So at the end of a year program, you’ve given them an extra $24-$36 over and above the $5 over spot per ounce. I pointed out to them that it isn’t right to say it’s a free 1oz bar if you charge me $2-$3 each month. Then I’m paying $24-$36 for my “free ounce” and that’s not free. He told me “well that’s the way it is. If they’ll do that to fellow Quad Cities Coin Club members, I’d check other coin shops around town. I haven’t been back. I do not recommend. They give you nothing for your jewelry only the scrap price that they are worth even though they plan to retail the items you bring in for much more. If they since you don’t know what you have or that your not familiar with the current value of scrap they will hit you with a unrealistically low evaluation it’s just bad business we know you have to make money but you don’t need to rob people and take advantage of them. I don’t think we are asking to much to get an honest evaluation this guy is not the guy you want to take any type of jewelry to unless it’s scrap and even then he kills you on the scrap price I had a handful of scrap gold valued by him for about 280 I declined their offer took the same pile to ACE coins they offered me over 400 for it.
