Honestly, I dont want to make anyone hate any of the managers or workers here or even the store, but the things that tick me off as someone who works here its getting harder to not let people know.
Ive been working here since late February this year and have come to realize how toxic it is. As a cashier in the afternoon you only have a fifteen minute break which used to be a thirty, the only reason it changed was cause of our old afternoon stockers taking an hour and a half, and they still do and we're expected to follow it, which then brings me to my first problem: the stockers dont clock out or get write ups for eating on the floor coming in late, having earbuds in, doing homework in a aisle, being rude, slacking off, or even just not doing their jobs, while as a cashier you get smacked with a write up for the slightest thing even going slightly over our breaks. In reality you can tell they favor certain groups more then others. The cashiers maybe the face of the store but so are the stockers in the aisles.
The rule we have for no eating on the floor is my second complaint I need to share with you. The store manager told me I couldn't do that when I did, days before and after I watched and witnessed multiple MANAGERS and cashiers eating on the floor in uniform, like I was singled out from all of those who constantly do this. And to be honest, they disregard other rules for everyone but someone else, I was also singled out for wearing black tights behind a register and had a jacket around my waist while the self-checkout attendant was wearing black tights with nothing over her waist.
It feels that as soon as I walk into Lowes for work they immediately try to single me out, I've never had any problems till recently when I noticed they didn't do it to anyone else.
My last straw was when I clocked out today. I was approving my hours only to realize that because I had written what time I left on a paper cause the system was down on Monday. The store manager clocked me for Zero hours when I had worked that day. If your planning on working here make sure you realize this store will make your day hell. There is in no way of I ever comeback to Monahans after I graduate will I work at Lowes. Its honestly disgusting how people can do this to people in High school and still think it wont effect their health mentally...
Read moreThere is so much missed opportunity here. They are so busy price gouging they have lost sight of what is important which is the customer. I understand this is an oilfield area, but they would make so much more money if they didnt do this. This is the only store for miles. Also their end caps make no sense. There was a display of mayonnaise along with pinto beans. They have poor quality produce. Their bread is always not fresh and things are close to expiration date. You ALWAYS have to check your receipt becuse you are always overcharged at least 2 to 3x. I get stuck every time waiting at customer service to get refunded for what I was charged wrong for. I have visited lowes in Stanton Tx and Tuscola Tx and they are so much better quality...
Read moreThe employees are great, decent selection but usually really high prices. 2 stars because a large amount of the perishable items they carry (dairy products, meats, etc...) expire that day or are already expired. And they're not discounted either, still full price. I can never find the expiration date on any of their eggs. Tons of food goes to waste because not many customers want to buy nearly rotten items. They must keep the fresh food in the back for weeks and put it out for sale the same day it expires. Makes no sense. I now drive to Wickett or Odessa for most items on my...
