Dolce Nonna — Restaurant in Monroe

Amazing food and drinks with a great atmosphere. It's clear that the owners put a lot of time and thought into the environment. Pastries and drinks were priced fairly meaning less-than-Ann-Arbor prices. Cakes were fresh and were fantastic. I had the hot chocolate and mocha, both were incredibly flavorful. Tasting them side by side really brought out the chocolate kick in the hot chocolate. While it was more subdued in the mocha, a welcomed surprise was that the coffee itself was noticeably rich with complimentary notes which I am not accustomed to in other mochas from around the area. Though I was there during breakfast hours, I did not see any breakfast pastries until they brought out some cinnamon rolls after I had checked out. Would like to see some chocolate danishes...

Dolce Nonna is a new establishment in Monroe, with really nice staff. They have amazing cannolis! Their cannoli dip is awesome! The coffee, is an entirely different story, though. The mocha we got we did not like at all. It tasted like hot chocolate hiding the actual coffee entirely. Also, the coffee menu is on the side by the cash register. It needs to be right when you're walking in on the wall where the pastries are displayed, so people know which beverage they want to order before getting up to the cash register. Also, please offer almond milk in addition to the oat milk option. Hope to come back in the future to order a regular coffee to see if the mocha was just a one...

I went in today to check out the new bakery in town. It was crazy busy but moved along just fine. Everyone that was working was smiling and very helpful. We ordered a variety of bakery goods and can't wait to try them all. But I have to tell you all try their coffee, you will fall deeply in love with it. We ordered the latte and oh my goodness if it wasn't for it being a cold ugly day in Michigan I could of sworn that I was sitting in a café in Italy sipping a cup of joy! Thank you for bringing this bakery...
