Rosemary spa — Local services in Monroe

I hate to leave a bad review, since I have been coming here for almost 10 years... but I just had the worst massage by their new masseuse, Danny. I tried to explain it to the gal when checking out, but I don't think she understood me. I used to get the most amazing 90 minute massages by Davey, but he has moved away so I booked it with their new guy,, Danny. I was only given a thin sheet to cover up with, as opposed to their thick blankets I am used to, and so off the get-go I was freezing the whole time. He spent 20 minutes massaging me OVER the sheet until finally I asked,"umm... are you going to work on my skin with oil?" He then proceeded to, but his movements felt like he wasn't used to giving massages. He was pinching a lot here and there, instead of the usual glides and pressure-rub. Nothing felt graceful. He spent close to 15 minutes on one foot and began irritating the nerves so much that I asked if he could please work on my neck. He tried to, but he just pinched and rolled the muscle in random areas on my neck while his palms were pushing in on my ears! It was the worst. I am used to the smooth pulling up your back and around your neck and the usual turning of the neck to work on areas, but he didn't do any of that. He used no oil at all once I rolled to my back and hardly worked on my arms, with no head massage. I kept wriggling in discomfort- like when someone is touching you in a really irritating way or poking you and you just want it to be done! Plus, he ended our session 7 minutes early. He was very nice, but being nice won't relieve sore muscles 🙂 I have never walked away this dissapointed from a massage before, but felt I needed to leave a review since the owner/receptionist didn't try to make amends (or maybe she possibly couldnt understand my experience)....

I have been having my hands go numb quite a bit and I decided to go get a massage. I've been here before but it's been a few years. A lovely woman helps me up the front desk and was very kind and recommended what she thought would be best to help with my issue. I did a 60 min massage. I don't know which style it was but it was perfect.

I ended up having a male masseuse named David and he was wonderful! Very professional and very kind. He has very warm and calming aura. He hit some pressure points and seem to know how much pressure to apply to those spots.

He was very polite, courteous, and professional. I had excruciating pain in my back and shoulders for a while. I tried several other spas and no one could relieve the tension in my aching areas until I met Danny at Rosemary Spa. He knew exactly what to do and relieved all the tension in my neck and shoulders.
