My suggestion: Pay an extra $40.00 and stay somewhere - anywhere - else. This establishment has, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have encountered in a long time. I booked a room here for my husband, and he ended up checking out after one day. When I attempted to contact the property about a refund for the unused days, as well as voice some concerns about the cleanliness and functionality of the facility, I was unable to contact the property via telephone, as they had set their phone to reject incoming calls. I emailed the inn, and a representative from the motel sent me an extremely accusatory and combative message threatening me with “defamation,” despite the fact that I’d shared my concerns directly in a private message (no legal basis for defamation). I have read other reviews, and I have seen similar threats against other dissatisfied customers, usually paired with wild, seemingly baseless accusations against the guest. This is a pattern, and I would highly advise that you don’t subject yourself to the uneducated rantings of someone who is trying to bully people into silence rather than correcting problems with their establishment. The person manning the email account agreed to give me a partial refund, but sent a bogus refund receipt with no confirmation number and a status of “offline” on their point of sale machine. I had to call my bank to formally dispute the transaction in order to receive the money I am rightfully due. I would give zero stars if I could. I have to select at least one star in order to post.
Note to other reviewers: Sharing your personal opinion about your experience with an establishment, poor or otherwise, is not slander, libel, or anything akin to defamation. As long as you are not trying to pass off your opinion as fact, you are in the clear. Do not let people threaten you out of...
Read moreWe booked last minute to attend the Spartan Race, and this was one of the only places left to stay in Munroe. I thought the prices were high due to limited availability ($129 USD per night) but I see they are generally around $90 USD which is TOO MUCH for this establishment. When we walked into the room, the musty smell was overpowering. We turned on the A/C and ran it all night long but it was still an undertone of our stay.
In the bathroom, housekeeping had folded a nice triangle onto what was literally one "wipe" worth of toilet paper. I'm not sure why they wouldn't just change the roll. Also the toilet paper holder is on one of those swing-back-and-forth type holders so that you can get exactly one square per pull and have to unwrap the toilet paper manually if you don't want to sit there for an hour trying to gather enough to clean up with. The bathtub wasn't something I'd sit in, but the shower in the morning had decent pressure and the curtain was clean.
Toiletries provided were: one teeny bottle of shampoo+conditioner for two adult human beings, and two bars of soap that didn't even smell good. There were enough towels provided. The bed was VERY firm, which I enjoy but my partner not so much. It was a little lumpy but I slept okay.
Breakfast was provided the next morning and I sampled the cut in half muffins (dry), and a hard-boiled egg (it was great). I would have had a bowl of cereal but there was no milk to be seen. Partner said the coffee was "nothing to write home about" and he had some instant oatmeal, no complaints there.
I think a fair price for this place would be under $50 USD per night. The pictures online were nicer than what it actually was. This would qualify as a place to crash for the night, but definitely don't expect to get your money's worth if you're...
Read moreI'm so easy going but despite my best efforts, this was easily the most unclean and unsafe I've ever felt in a hotel. The very first interaction was getting downgraded from the king bed I booked to a queen which they said would result in a partial refund that never came.
Everything was broken, the room smelled like hoarding and stale urine, there were flies everywhere and the carpets were beyond filthy. I ended up getting my own pillow and comforter from a thrift store so I could feel less dirty and I also bought candles and kept the window open to try and keep the smell down.
When I used the washer and dryer, the dryer was also broken and I asked reception to help me figure out how to get it to work and they said they didn't know how and so I ended up getting help from people on extended stay who are accustomed to using the facilities to show me how to reach inside of the broken coin op portion of the dryer and flip a switch back and forth to get it to work. Once it was running I went back to the receptionist and asked him if he would like me to show him how to do it so he would know for the next person who asked and he told me "that's not my duty" and refused to come learn how.
The final straw happend shortly after when I went back into the room and saw a flea crawling across my dog's head. At this point I checked out immediately and when I went in to explain the situation and request a refund, they initially offered me $50 out of $362. Settled on $140 back.
In the end I left early and lost well over $100 and my pets have a new...
