We stayed here for the Monroe auto swap meet as my dad has for several years and what a horrible experience we had. Would not recommend it
Our stay started off bad when i walked in the lobby and the person at the desk was sitting down and did not greet me. I had to say hello before he got up to see how he could help me. I asked the parking situation as there were several trailers that had taken up 4-5 spots. This left the parking lot completely full. The guy at the desk with the long beard said they did not have any trailer parking and that is why he had allowed them to park that way. He told us we could park far away in the very back of the pizza parking lot. I explained my dad was handicapped and would not be able to walk that far. He then let us park right under the overhang which was appreciated. We then got to the room and there was a King bed and a pull out couch. I called down to the desk and told him that we had reserved two beds and he proceeded to argue with me that he was for sure he took the reservation and that there was not way we did. I told him we had and he said sorry there was no other rooms available and i would have to talk to his manager during the week. I then noticed the room smelled extremely bad of smoke but i didn't bother to call to tell anyone as he wasn't helpful the first time and said there was not more rooms so what would he do. The bathroom tiles in the shower were dirty and when the toilet got plugged up someone brought a plunger and handed it to my dad instead of sending maintenance or housekeeping to take care of it. The bad experience continued as we went to the hot tub and there was not towels so we had to request towels from the front desk. Then the next morning at breakfast it was 6:15 am when we came to breakfast and the coffee was all already empty and what was left was cold. There was cold biscuits next to the gravy and very greasy under-cooked sausage. The milk and the juice was empty and all the empty tables were dirty. I have stayed at many hotels across the country and internationally and this was one of the worst...
Read moreit was a lovely hotel, but there was one major issue with our stay. my partner and i booked a standard room and, with no notice or warning, we were placed in a handicap accessible room. at first, i didn’t have any issue with it. we had a king bed instead of two queens, so i thought it would be fine. then i walked into the bathroom. the shower was a HUGE problem. the shower head was fixed to the middle of the wall about 4 feet off of the ground, right around chest-height for me. i showered twice throughout our stay, and both times, a significant amount of water ended up outside of the shower; you can’t move out of the way of the faucet or bend down without the water spraying straight out of the shower. there was no lip on the floor and no tub, so the water didn’t even try to stay inside. i had to use almost every towel in the room to soak up the bathroom floor.
i wish we were asked if it would be okay to put us in an accessibility room beforehand - so we could say NO!! for two, non-disabled people, it was the most inaccessible hotel room i’ve ever been in :( i didn’t like the idea of staying in a room meant for disabled folks because it meant that an actual handicapped person could not stay in this room. the hotel was not fully booked, so i can’t imagine why we were placed there. it was a wonderful hotel overall, but that shower will give me nightmares for...
Read moreThe drain stopper was broken and the tub kept filling up so I ended up taking it out to allow the water to drain, the shower curtain was ripped on every eyelet, the light bulbs in the bathroom were dying out so the lighting was horrible when hotel bathroom lighting is normally phenomenal, the bedding was not warm at all. When we asked for more blankets they gave us the itchy woven flat sheets that had the elastic on all 4 corners for a tight fit on the bed (so the flat sheet that goes under the fitted sheet), then our toilet clogged up from us just going number 1 and they gave us a plunger to fix it ourselves. The coffee pot was in the bathroom, right next to the toilet (kinda gross). This wasn’t a huge deal but it was definitely noticed… there were holes on all the walls from what we think were previous things hung up and it just looked like it was a job that was never complete. One more thing, we had been in our room for about 15-20 minutes and a housekeeper walked right on in without a knock. At first I thought it was my husband but nope. It was super awkward and we had our pet with us so it’s also not the smartest thing to do as any animal could just run out of the room. I’m not sure if the communication was not there between them and the front desk but it was super...
