Jafajems — Local services in Montclair

In the past I have spent a lot of money in this store. After my experience today I would return every single purchase If I could. After raving about the store to my husband, we visited the store along with the rest of our family! I was prepared to spend a couple hundred dollars on a wooden bookshelf I had just convinced my husband to buy... I was so disappointed after our visit! I have never in my life been more uncomfortable! The woman at the desk neither greeted us nor responded to me when I walked in saying Hello! She followed my 11 year old around, staring her down as if she were gonna destroy the whole place. My 11yo was so fascinated with all the different items in the store & it broke my heart that I had to pull her away because of how unwelcome she was! I strongly urge you not to give this store your business. They neither value nor appreciate their loyal customers... Especially if you...

I recently purchased a few items as holiday gifts at Jafajems pop-up shop down the street from their main shop. Unfortunately, a pair of beautiful leather gloves I purchased does not fit the person I bought them for, so I asked Jarafems if they'd honor a store credit for an exchange. They not only said no and basically said I was out of luck, but they were rude and unwilling to offer an alternative solution for this very expensive item I purchased as a gift (which I imagine most items were from this pop-up shop). This is not the first time I've had terrible customer service here. Associates are often unfriendly and unhelpful when shopping in person. It's a shame, because they do have beautiful items and I often try to support our local small businesses, but this was the last time I'll be supporting this...
