I went to Croniers to have a link removed from a watch that I bought at a different location. I asked the first man who looked at it how much he would charge to do this, he clearly stated 10 dollars, my companion heard it as well...the man gave my watch to another man who did the work. The watch was made to fit and the man said, "That will be 20 dollars," I told him the first guy said 10, he stated (very loudly) "Oh no, I'm pretty certain he said 20 and HE is an honest man...implying for all in the store to hear, that I was not being honest. ....I was a bit embarrassed so I paid what he said was the charge...and left before I lost my temper.
