I found several very negative things when I went to the store yesterday. When I came in the evening at roughly 7 p.m. and I drove by the store I was convinced it was closed because there was no lighted sign and the parking lot seemed dark to me. It was so dark that I literally drove over a curb because I couldn't see it. I was told by a person in the store that lighting and heating and air conditioning and all such things were controlled buy some sort of Command Post in another state. The parking lot is plain and simple dangerous. I certainly would not go there alone at night. And as I said it was so poorly lighted that I drove over a curb. Also, there is only one entrance and exit and that too is very poorly lighted. I actually went to the store in order to get a couple of bouquets of flowers. I have found the flowers to be of excellent quality, long lasting, and very inexpensive. Unfortunately, there were no flowers available. One other thing that I went to get was jumbo scallops. It was a sign in the refrigerated case saying there was sorry but they did not have that item. If I specifically go to the store because I want to buy items that are advertised in the weekly circular and I cannot get them, there was no point in my going there at all. I am willing to give the store the benefit of the doubt but the unbelievably poor lighting in the parking lot is simply a non-starter. I can't believe that the company thinks keeping a parking lot dark is a savings. Apparently they don't have much concern about safety and that is simply incongruous to me. I'll come back if and when they properly light the parking lot and make it easier to get in...
Read moreTWO COMPLAINTS FIRSTLY: The manager or owner of this Lidl's seems to think that POWDERED FRENCH VANILLA NON DAIRY CREAMER FOR COFFEE IS ALL ANYONE WOULD EVER WANT!!!! OH BUT WE HAVE A CHOICE!!!! REGULAR SWEETENED FRENCH VANILLA AND SUGAR FREE FRENCH VANILLA! HOW TOTALLY THOUGHTFUL OF YOU!!! I'M HANDICAPPED!!! IN ADDITION TO THE FACT THAT THERE IS NOT ONE ELECTRIC CART FOR THE HANDICAPPED, I REALLY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO HIRE TRANSPORTATION TO TAKE ME TO TWO STORES SO I CAN GET MY CARNATION ORIGINAL POWDERED NON DAIRY COFFEE CREAMER.
SECONDLY: I already stated I'm handicapped and have already contacted Lidl's via their website in regard to this second matter. I have to HOBBLE from the far rear of our apartment community to the front office to keep my mailbox emptied out ( a round trip which takes me about 15 minutes and 20 minutes on a bad day) Lidl's offers their "customers" the ability online to request they be removed from their mailing list... BY ADDRESS!!!! (NOT NAME) And yet after more than two months has passed since my contacting them, THEY STILL KEEP MAILING THEIR WORTHLESS TRASH STORE FLYERS TO ME!!! WHY IS IT WORTHLESS???? SEE THE REASON STATED ABOVE!!!! I DON'T SHOP THERE!!! AND I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE!!! THE MORE TRASH THEY MAIL TO ME THE MORE LIKELY I WILL BE TO GO TO FOOD LION DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE INTERSECTION FROM THEM, who by the way, MAILS...
Read moreI shop at lidle at least once a week. I am from France and I have rarely been impressed with the bakeries in this country, but this one is awesome. I am vegetarian/vegan and find great vegan options at reasonable prices. My family loves the seafood and we enjoy the unique candy, dishes and cakes from Europe. The store is unique. It has a good variety of fruit and vegetables, many of which are organic. Before the holidays, many goodies are sold which we cannot find elsewhere. We were thrilled to find frozen oysters a couple of weeks ago as they are frequently sold all over France at this time of year. Same thing for escargots. The shrimp croquettes taste exactly the way they do in Belgium and I have never found them anywhere else. On top of that Lidl is a leader in anti pollution. We are advised to recycle our own bag rather than use plastic bags once and throwing them in the standard garbage bin. This makes COMPLETE sense. I hope that lidle will continue to offer their customers good prices, an excellent variety of items that are difficult to find elsewhere and good...
