Mal's is pretty much my go-to place now for fresh fruits and veggies in town. This location is the one I go to the most but there are a variety of stand locations throughout town that have almost all the same items. However, this main location also has an indoor space with fridges and freezers with fresh meats from around the area.
In addition to fresh produce there are a variety of jams, jellies, and sauces for sale too. I have enjoyed a variety of the different BBQ sauces and the chicken wing sauces. They are really great.
There is also a great selection of baked goods they bring in from an Amish bakery a few times a week. Fresh dinner rolls, fruit pies, pepperoni rolls, and donuts. They are all great. The donuts especially are fantastic but fair warning one donut is super filling and super sweet.

The “2008 food, conservation and energy act (2008 farm bill) defined local as LESS THAN 400 MILES from a product’s origin or within the state in which it was produced. The tag in the photo in this post was on the seedless watermelon I purchased at Mal’s this morning. Dover, FL, the place of production of the watermelon I purchased at Mal’s is more than 13 hours and 48 minutes from Morgantown via truck. Given Mal’s advertising of “local and fresh” produce and other goods, consumers should know where the products they sell are really coming from. Because in reality, they aren’t local or fresh. Check out their instagram page. They even advertise produce “local” from states as far away as FL and beyond! @malsfreshproduce...

Definitely will be going back for more, and they even had a 50% off section for slightly damaged produce. The only dislike is that they kept some produce out in the sun which caused them to become squishy and flopping like the asparagus, but that can be...
