Okay I know you shouldn't listen in to other folks, but this was hard.. I was seated by the hostess and she placed my sitting in a window booth but with my back to the room (privacy?? ) So, I took the opposite seat to face room ..call it paranoid or too many gangster & cowboy movies in my youth .... don't like my back to the room.
Waitress came quickly to get my drink order...I requested a soda and she scurried away. Now for the floor show... I heard one of my fellow diners ask for attention, waved his arms and even snapped his fingers. Finally the hostess came over, I would like my waitress....and off she went.
A few seconds no actually minutes about 2-3 another woman came to him. Meanwhile my waitress appears with my tea...???? I thought I asked for soda, but no big deal breaker..and she takes my order !! Meanwhile by this time the man and his waitress was exchanging a gun shower of words..he was upset his pancakes cold, she's claiming the butter wouldn't be melty if cold...he wanted fresh ones and she wasn't having it.... Come on lady, this is a Pancake Place ..go get the elderly gentleman hotter pancakes!!! No big deal, but she wasn't having it...she argued with him. She finally got it!!! My food arrived and I was thinking to myself, glad I'm not in her section. He ate his meal, I finished my Eggs over Easy with Bacon and toast. He paid her and left!! She was then complaining loudly that he didn't tip...
I'm just thankful that my waitress was nice, friendly and not that...
Read moreWe stopped and there were several groups from several other HS sports teams that had competed locally.
My husband, myself, & our 2 daughters were pressured into paying for an additional check #7938 for table 149/2, in the amount of $13.33.
That food was neither ordered by or consumed by us, yet as my husband had to use the men's room and just happened to be the last customer out the door, the manager said "I still have this outstanding bill that needs to be paid....".
He stated that the bill was not ours, and we presented and paid our bill for Table 149/7, check #7936 for $37.14, but as she had allowed every other party to leave, she implied we were required to pay it.
I didn't want the young waitress to be responsible for it, so we paid the bill and even tipped the waitress $20 additionally.
That said, IHOP'S manager should never have requested that a customer pay for anyone's bill, other than their own.
The manager should have noted the different table #'s and probably did....but still took our money for the other persons bill.

Read moreThe waitress and food were great, and hats off to our waitress as it was only her third day on the job, truly great attention to detail and kind. That being said, the hostess was absolutely horrendous. Not only did she not update the waitlist to include our family of 4s party (even after my husband spelled out his name for her 2 times "Barrett" nothing too crazy), we patiently sat at the front of the waiting bench at the front of the hostess stand for over 50 minutes (having been told the wait time was only 15 minutes) watching party after party (larger and smaller) going ahead of us - my husband approached to ask how much longer the wait would be - he was told we were not even on the list and that she did not even "see that we were there" (taking up 4 spots on the bench right in front of her face). Lovely waste of our time, add to that she was extremely rude and arrogant when approached, and not a single apology for the misunderstanding or oversight. Was a wonderful "Welcome to America" for our Canadian visiting...
