Only one mobility scooter! Employee said single scooter "reduced clutter". Handicapped people aren't "clutter", but the single mobility chair is never charged, so the store effectively eliminates people with. mobility disabilities much of the time. You must be physically able to walk around to have an effective shopping trip, and with only one uncharged scooter, "clutter" is effectively reduced. Early morning usually finds the shelves sparsely stocked, and produce isn't as fresh as it is after the stockers begin around 9:00-10:00 a.m. There are few 'name brand' recognizable, but although not as tasty as USA's familiar brands, it's cheaper, and flavor can be enhanced some by smart cooks! Shelves are high and unreachable by mobility-impaired customers. There's always only one checker when I have visited, and there's been no one to give directions or assistance. Products are not always consistently the same, and the location snd availability of vegetables is unpredictable, mostly available only in bulk packaging. Raw meats don't seem to contain much information about origin or content, so it seems hard to decipher exact information about the meats. People who like to pick & choose their foods won't have as much choice, and should choose wisely. I'm sure it's a great store for customers who don't mind the inconveniences, and don't have disabilities, because there is no clutter from mobility chairs and extra personnel. The young ladies who check out the customers are working to be so fast that pastry products are sometimes mashed, and need more "care" when handled at checkout. You will find some canned German foods, but the brand's aren't ones I've seen before. Pastries are fairly tasty, but not 'delicate' & visually appealing as much as people might prefer for enteraining. It's easy to see how the store effectively cuts cost, but my opinion is that it diminishes too many other advantages that most customers appreciate. Surely many will opt for fewer choices, food in bulk, unfamiliar name brands, and other inconveniences, in order to eat cheaply. But lack of mobility scooters for handicapped & mobility impaired customers will definitely "reduced the clutter" because the store isn't "customer -friendly" if you can't walk, reach high shelves, carry heavy bulk products, spare 25 cents for a cart, sack your own groceries, or sack & transport your purchases out of the store. The concept behind the store is "cheap stuff", but if you can't walk, reach, or carry your purchases, it's not a store that's as "all-inclusive"...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat shopping market. Aldies is new in town and I have made it my go to for grocery shopping. They always have amazing deals on great quality brands. There eggs are always very cheap they do have a limit on how many you can buy but it's worth it. There produce does lack quality but if you need somw produce you will cook/ use that same day its worth it I usually don't get produce from here for that reason. What I do take advantage of all the time is there meat discounts they always have the best prices in town on chicken and pork; beef is expensive everywhere. The only thing about Aldoes is you will have to bring your own plastic bags or tote bag unless you want to spend $0.10 on paper brown bags. They also sometimes do have free boxes set up front you can use to carry your groceries. To use a buggy you will also need a quarter but you will get it back after putting the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAldi is a great grocery store for low prices. They have great salmon, chicken, and beef. Good produce. Gourmet cheeses and other surprising items. I got a great waffle iron there. Just remember to unload your groceries out of your basket in order of heaviest first working back to your items that are more delicate. The reason for this is that the cashiers simply run your items across the scanner as fast as they can before flinging it into the waiting basket next to them. Your groceries are piled up in the basket and if you sent eggs first rather than last, they will be broken on the bottom of the pile. They do not use any care at all. Speed seems to be their priority. You must bag your own groceries after you pay. Considering all this, you...
