I typically love gamestop. I have recently moved to Texas from Virginia and enjoyed visiting my old store. Everyone there made me feel at home in their store. But in Texas, everyone just seems annoyed by my presence. This has been the case on multiple occasions and the most recent has pushed me over the edge.
I went in to buy a game and it wasn't in stock. No problem, it happens. They ordered a copy and set it up to be shipped to my house. I have done this a couple of times with no problem. Package arrived two days earlier than expected but there's only one problem, its been used. I do not buy used games. The sales person never said it was a used copy ever during our entire conversation. I would not have bought it had I known it was used. I have found it brand new for the same price on other sites and I would have bought it from them instead. I feel cheated and misled. Like she just wanted to make the sale and get me out of the store. Read moreThis handling of the PS5 preorder was poor by ALL vendors, no captcha on the pre-order so thousand went to ebay to sell at twice the price thanks to bots. Went to the story early on Thursday and they don't even open till 12 ! Wow! I heard they had store consoles today for pre-order, so I went up at 12 and yeah they had 10 but it was 1st come 1st serve and some ppl heard and had been there since 6. Only care about...
Read moreGame Stop is way too expensive for video game consoles and games. They want to charge $50 plus for used game controllers and want to charge way too much for used games. They do not have a very good selection of games at all. Game Stop as a whole was good back in the 2000's. But in the modern day and time stores like Game Stop are being put out of business by Amazon. I do not think Game Stop will be in business in another five to seven years. Blockbuster went out of business because of Redbox, Netflix, and Amazon Prime and countless other sources for watching movies and video games. Hastings Entertainment went out of business. Book stores are going out of business. Times are changing and Game Stop will soon be an echo of...
