I'm not usually one to write these reviews, but I think everyone should know about this hidden gem in Mt. Pleasant! (No pun intended lol)
I am from Columbia, but recently drove down to buy a beautiful gold David Yurman necklace, after my personal Jeweler and now someone I consider a friend, Michael Hahnemann, moved from Columbia to be the assistant manager of the Mt Pleasant Reeds store. This store in Mt Pleasant is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, with a very friendly, and professional staff. They have Rolex, apparently the only Cartier dealer in SC, David Yurman, Mikimoto pearls, along with many other high end designers and gorgeous jewelry at great prices! And of course I have to brag on my Michael... I first met Michael when I went into their Columbia location one evening last year, to sell my old engagement ring, and was greeted by a young man with a big smile, and a charming deep southern Alabama accent. I had just finalized a 22yr divorce that week. I was not in the best of spirits, but he brought light to my sad day by suggesting that we have a "celebrate a new beginning party", which is just what I needed! 3 hours of chit chat, and a couple glasses of champagne later, I ended up leaving the store that day with a Forevermark Diamond earring and pendent set, and a new Jeweler and friend in the jewelry business, as I have been back to buy many beautiful diamond pieces from him since! Michael is not your typical salesperson. Despite being a younger guy you don't often see in high end Jewelery stores, he has that professional knowledgeable touch, along with a genuinely engaging personable non pushy demeanor, that is also hard to find in high end jewelry stores. MUCH more than a pretty face as I always tell him! Lol. I will continue to drive to Mt Pleasant for my jewelry needs, because of Reed's proven professionalism, and to see my...
Read moreI purchased a Rolex watch from Reeds 25 years ago. I have used them for periodic repairs around $1600 each time. Always sent to Rolex for repairs 3 times. This time I got the watch back and again looking beautiful. Bad thing is that it no longer fits my wrist! Rolex either removed one link or the new clasp they put on is smaller than the original. After paying $1600.00 I cannot wear the watch. Reeds sent an email to Rolex and they sent a picture of the watch they said before the repairs. Same number of links but instead of having 7 on one side of the clasp and 6 on the other side the one they sent me has 8 on one side and 5 on the other! Why the different configuration. Is their picture of my watch or another watch? Beware and take pictures of what you give them because Reed Jewelers will not make you whole and your jewelry may not fit or be usable by you. In this case the customer was not right or satisfied and they could care less. I was mistaken. I received a call from Ron, the manager stating he should have been notified of the problem and he would explain this to the staff. He has promised to remedy the problem. This being the case, I am giving them a five star rating.
In conclusion I must give Ron 10 stars. He followed up and called me several times. He identified the problem and included me in correspondence with Rolex. He sent me a new link and called to ask if I was pleased with the link, the fit and all around service I had received. I am very happy and forever grateful for the service I received from Ron and Reeds Jewelers in...
Read moreI dropped my Tag off for a battery repair about a month ago. I was a little concerned that after a year and a half the battery was already dead, but after speaking with the associate she assured me this was normal. She recommended that I send the Watch off to make sure all seals were working properly at a cost of $160. I agreed that was the best practice. She said typically it takes 3 to 4 weeks. I was shocked when I got a call 3 weeks later from another associate to confirm if the amount was ok. I then inquired about the lengthy time it was taking. She said it would more than likely take at least 5 more weeks. If this is true we are talking 2 months for a battery repair. She was also extremely rude on the phone. She explained that most people in the Watch repair industry take vacations in the summer. So I guess the consumer should receive bad customer service because people are taking vacations especially when you pay 2 to 3k for a watch. I will not be doing business with Reeds Jewelers in Mount...
