Two stars, only because the server Ken was "Amazing!!" Otherwise I would offer a twinkle let alone a star. Why you ask? Well, because the pretentious very judgmental teen host boy, was oh so happy to tell me the wait was at least an hour, while making sure multiple times that his coif was adjusted accordingly.....weirdly, a table was ready in 15 minutes. This kind of host, costs restaurants $. Furthermore, it makes diners on edge before they even meet the waitstaff. I'll leave it to ownership to deal with the dark haired Justin Bieber wannabe. Sadly, seating was in the "conference room", where overflow customers went. Weirdly all diners in the overflow room, did not match the demographic of the main room Gotta keep the riff raff out of sight.......laughable!!! Even though we escape Daniel Island to support surrounding businesses, I never thought I'd be judged because I wore a tshirt and flip flops. Clearly management needs to work on social equality, and an attitude of service and not privilege. Overall, chefs did a great job, just a shame front door staff and managements seating protocols will make sure I not only don't come back, but clearly communicate that others shouldn't. Waste your $ with people who deserve it. Check out the pic, this is fine dining?!?!!?

Just got off 526 heading towards Myrtle Beach in Mt Pleasant and wanted to stop for lunch in something besides fast food and found this great place. Located in a large outdoor mall setting with outlets and restaurants knew we had perhaps found a great place. Seated in a comfortable booth we started our great experience with Brittany our server. I wanted a lighter lunch and ordered the grilled shrimp with a cucumber salad which was delicious a real 5 ⭐. Bill decided to try the Short Rib Grilled cheese OMG was it fantastic! Bill gives it 5 ⭐+++ Now with the sandwich came French fries... they were cool, unseasoned and soft. Bill mentioned it to Brittany who offered to get a fresh serving...Bill said it wasn't necessary but suggested she advise the kitchen for future guests. Bill was ready to 2 ⭐ that part of the meal when up comes the Manager Fernando with a hot, well seasoned and crispy serving of wonderful Fries 🍟 a real 5 ⭐. This was perhaps a little thing to some but a big thing for a first time guest that the server and manager took a problem and made it a plus. Simply all categories are great and highly recommend this location for any and all to enjoy as we will stop in again during our travels.

The food was definitely “okay”, but a couple of details reflecting disrespect for their clientele crashed the rating. Their menu, in the seafood section, claims that they source their seafood locally when possible, yet the do not. With the highest quality shrimp available from the local fleet, they choose to take the low road and buy their shrimp elsewhere, probably imported farmed shrimp from Southeast Asia or China. When asked what local seafood was available, I was told the salmon and the haddock were local before I told the server I had heard enough- salmon and haddock are not found within hundreds of miles of Charleston. Not a terrible restaurant, but lacking ethics and respect for the communities in the area. Bread is not served unless you purchase it separately. Edit: The owner apologized for the server not knowing that none of the seafood that they serve is local, but did not address the blatantly false and disingenuous statement on the menu about "fresh, premium & sustainable seafood, sourced locally whenever possible." Southeast Asian farmed shrimp is not fresh, not premium, not sustainable, and not sourced locally. None of their other seafood meets all or most of that claim either.

This was my first time at this restaurant. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I just wanted to treat myself to lunch. I originally turned in the shopping center to go to Cava, and I came across this place. Pulled them up on Google to look at the menu and reviews and I was impressed. So I gave them a try. The customer service at the host stand was exceptional with the mgr and host!

However, my server, Stephan, definitely needs more training. There were things he did and didn't do that did not give the "upscale dining experience" as advertised on Google!

For starters, it took him well over 12-15 minutes to even come to my table and greet me. Typically if a server isn't available, host will have you wait in the lobby so that your server can start you with drinks within 5 minutes of seating. When he brought my water, he did not bring a straw to the table. What waitress doesn't have straws in their apron ?! He said he'd be right back, but the next time he came out, he was actually bringing something to another table, not me. This made me feel unseen, or last priority! Serving is all about multitasking. You could have absolutely brought the other table their check and brought me a straw in the same trip!

When he was finally ready to take my order, I asked about some popular favorites since this was my first visit. He told me about 3 or 4 different options, which left me kind of puzzled again because I didn't know which one to choose because they all sounded yummy! I told him to give me a few minutes. He went to two other tables in the meanwhile that were right next to me and as he was walking to the back, I told him I'd like to go ahead and place my order because I had figured it out while he were at the other two tables. He didn't. He brushed me off and made me wait until he came back. Again, multitasking... If you're already walking to the kitchen, why not place my order and do what the other tables need all in one trip?!

I'm not saying it was a horrible experience, although my Parmesan fries were not hot and fresh. I'm just making it aware that this did not give upscale vibes. It gave a typical restaurant experience and when I pay upscale prices, I expect...

I was really pumped to visit this restaurant after reading reviews here and on Allergy Eats. We all have food allergies and it sounded like this was the place to go near Charleston. I have to say we were a bit disappointed. While the meal started off pretty well and the manager Ryan was very attentive to our allergy needs we ended up having to wait a little over an hour to get our food. There was a bit of trouble apparently getting separate oil ready for our French fries. It took so long our meats were brought out about 10-15 mins ahead of the fries. My three small kids were all complaining they were very hungry by the time we could eat. Our server Tim virtually disappeared after the food came. Ryan was more attentive diluting the meal than Tim was. We had to ask multiple times for drink refills with empty cups on the table. I sent my family to the car when ready for the check and sure enough another 10 minute wait just to get the check. For more than $70 I expected a lot better. I wanted so much to like the place but my family and I came away sorely disappointed. Super bummed that this place just didn't live up to the hype... Update: Ryan reached out to us and expressed his regret that the our experience at the restaurant did not go very well and he adjusted our bill to help compensate. This was great on his part to do and we appreciate it very much. I would gladly trade that though for a better experience to begin with. I've added one more star to my review....

The restaurant goes above and beyond to ensure guests with food allergies are able to dine safely. We have a young child with multiple severe food allergies. Dining out is always nearly impossible and stressful for us. We rarely ever get to dine out because of it. Most places just act like we are being difficult just to be difficult. When in reality we just don't want our child to die and haven't been out to eat in a year.

So when I read about the allergy commitment at Burton's, I was sure to check it out. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all the ingredients and substitutions that could be made.

The allergies were communicated and repeated both at order taking and order being brought to table. The allergy free meal also came out on a square plate to distinguish it. The clarified exactly what would be substituted to make a certain item allergy free and that it would be prepared separately.

This is the Gold standard of how dining should be. For those of us in the food allergies community it can't be overstated how much we appreciate it. I almost had tears in my eyes watching my son eat a meal without being concerned about a reaction of any kind. Having no anxiety while enjoying a meal.

The food was also amazing for the rest of us as well. All members of our party thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We all left...
