I do not write reviews very often unless the service or product is extraordinarily good or extraordinarily bad. This one was the ladder.
My kids and I were not in our best clothing because we were painting pottery earlier in the day. My sales woman and the owner watched us very closely us right from when we walked in the door. They followed us around and asked if we needed help excessively.
We went into the office section where they have an old typewriter........DO NOT touch the typewriter!! My son had never touched one so he hit a couple keys very respectfully. We got a dirty look from one sales woman who then proceeded to go tell our saleswoman what he did. She came over corrected us and then proceeded to ask us if we are done in this room. The whole time she was using nonverbal mannerisms which were appallingly. The owner had his arms crossed from a distance. I felt disrespected as if we were below them. I was prepared to spend approximately three grand on what we wanted and we had already decided on one item. I’ve shopped at the store in the past but will never again.
I am a business owner in the community and would never allow my children to act disrespectfully in a store. I would suggest to the owner he should put a sticker on it that says DO NOT TOUCH if he does not want kids to touch his mother’s precious typewriter. It is located in the middle of the room on a small desk.

Read moreSee my first post after this second: I disavow all that I wrote way back when i didn't have my chair yet poor me! That was not the real me who wrote that a chair has no right to take over two months to arrive from across the Pacific, even from beautiful Viet Nam. That was someone else. I promise. Seriously and all kidding aside, the chair, the staff, the joint itself altogether, are everything I want a furtniture store to be. I changed to FIVE STARS and I'm glad I did. LYON'S!
I love the office desk chair I found for several hundred dollars, but I do not love the lengthy wait for delivery: six to eight weeks I was told when I made the purchase and up to ten weeks when I returned to the store to check on my purchase. Ten weeks for a chair? Is the factory in interplanetary space far across the solar system? Can't a shipping process begin on or soon after the date of purchase? Does the store know about the internet? And here we thought Mt. Vernon had joined the new century!...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience with Lyon's Furniture in Mt Vernon! I had been shopping for "in stock" electric recliners to help with my back issues. Had targeted Flexsteel as some of my favorite and was on the hunt. After exhausting all the local stores I took a chance and drove from Birch Bay down to Mt Vernon. Not only did they have a fantastic variety of electric recliners to choose from, many of them were in stock. In addition, they were priced well below the local stores. Even competing with online pricing, wow! I was so excited we purchased one more piece to round out our living room. Shelley was fantastic, allowing me to take my time trying out each chair. I was there for quite a while. She is a great salesperson! My wife and I are thrilled with the furniture and the delivery folks were top notch as...
