On August 4th, I called MTV and Appliance to schedule an appointment because our dryer had stopped heating. They scheduled me for August 7th, but required a $100 fee just to hold the appointmentâsomething I found unreasonable given that weâve purchased multiple appliances from them over the years and have always paid our bills without issue.
The technician arrived around 4:00 p.m., took the dryer apart, put it back together in about 30 minutes, and never explained the issue until I asked. At first, I thought it was fixed, but I was told the part wasnât carried and would need to be ordered. The next day I was quoted $88 for a fuse and for them to return, but the part would take a week to arrive and then another week before they could come backâleaving us without a dryer for three weeks. When I pointed this out, the technician basically shrugged it off. Thankfully, I was able to pickup the part and my husband was able to repair the fuse so we could have a working dryer again.
That fix lasted only a week before the dryer quit again. When I called back, the person who answered gave me the runaround and even suggested I just buy a new dryerââtheyâre only $499,â he said. I was told they could maybe squeeze me in Tuesday or Wednesday. I explained that I needed the first appointment of the day due to childcare and work arrangements, and was assured of that for August 27th. However, when the technician called, I had been âbumpedâ to the 11 a.m.â1 p.m. window for another customerâyet I was told this couldnât be done for me the day prior.
The technician again tore the dryer apart, told my mother it was the fuse and a connector wire, and said he would call me later that evening. He never did. When I called around 5:15 p.m., he finally told me the issue and promised someone from the store would call the next day with pricing. Today is September 7th, and I still have not received that call.
Weâve since purchased new appliances from a big box store and will not be returning to MTV and Appliance. After years of being local business supporters, this experience was extremely disappointing. Between the upfront fee, lack of communication, constant delays, and poor customer service, I would never recommend this...
Read moreI purchased a new Refrigerator, dish washer, stove, range hood, and a freezer at the same time. Nick was very helpful and knowledgeable but that's where it stops. The delivery people damaged our wall and our cabinet while installing the refrigerator. I called Mike who advised me he would check what needed to be done to repair it and call me back after the weekend. Two weeks later and no response so I called him back. He blamed it all on the people he called not getting back to him, but he would reach out to them again and get this handled. It's been a month now with absolutely no contact and no effort to repair the damage they did to our home. Once they have your cash your value to them as a customer goes to zero immediately. We chose them over a big box store because of their claim they service what they sell. I might as well have bought from a big box store and saved money. If this is how their repair people do things I'm not sure I want them...
Read moreWe bought a new Amana washing machine here in February 2024 for our second home. Havenât washed 12 loads through it since we bought it. It quit working after 18 months and less than 12 loads. Warranty was 1 year on something I paid $580.00 for. Now to fix it they want another $326.00. In July of this year we bought an Amana clothes dryer here to match our washer we purchased last year. I now have spent almost $1,500.00 in products but got nothing but headaches and poor quality products. Better address these issues with your Whirlpool supplier. I wonât be purchasing anything here in the future. I thought buying local was the thing to do. I might as well have spent my money at a big box store. Cheaper prices but the exact same care for the customer...
