Muncie Habitat For Humanity ReStore — Local services in Muncie

I used to have high regards for this store and really enjoyed shopping here up until the last 6 months or so when they have decided to put a "Gone Fishing" sign in the window whenever they choose to suddenly close for the day. We have to travel 40 miles one way to shop at this store. We have to rely on the store hours and days open solely on their website because no one ever answers the phone. Twice now in the last 2 weeks they have been closed when they were supposed to be open. We traveled all that distance for no reason. And we are not alone. There were several other people in the parking lot from various other towns that came to shop only to find the doors locked and store closed when according to their hours they were open. It's just very poor business practice to decide on a whim when to have a 3 hour employee meeting and decide to lock the doors or switch up the hours and days open that are different from your business hours on your website. If you are going to change the days and hours of operation than change it on your website to reflect that so people from far away don't have to waste their time and gas...

New mgmt. at this Muncie location. I have noticed prices have increased on several categories, but staff is still willing to work with you. Although items are donated, this place still has to bring in funds to support Habitat for Humanity's mission. Houses are not built at $0 cost. Anyone complaining about prices can literally go spend their hard-earned money elsewhere, leaving more finds for us pickers!

Staff and Mgmt. is kind and will negotiate with you, but there is a limit. On a high note, the store is generally clean and pretty organized

If the folks in charge think they have something vintage that is worth big money, I have noticed it is being priced up quite a bit...I would ask mgmt. to keep in mind this isn't eBay and most people shopping here are Ballin' on a budget :) As I said, if you ask for a deal, they have rarely told me they can't go lower, it depends on how long it has sat in there too, be vigilant and kind when negotiating. Love this store, it has been a while since I had been in there but they have really gotten a bunch of different things in there for fixing up homes. Recommend checking out their paint selection before buying form other stores. Way more affordable and pretty good selection!
