DO NOT BOOK HERE. DO NOT BOOK HERE. I have never been so upset. I booked a cabin (second time customer) for our first wedding anniversary. I emailed back and fourth with Misti and we spoke on the phone where I booked for the three night minimum as required for the unit. Finally, day of comes and I call to see how to pick up the keys. As I am talking I am interrupted by the owner saying "HOLD ON, I DON'T HAVE YOU HERE." I cannot begin to explain how rude she was to me. I sent her the emails, their inbox was full and it was rejected. What kind of business has a full inbox and doesn't keep record of customer communications? I had to send them to Misti's personal email. What a joke. The entire time the owner is saying, well, you didn't speak with me. She never once apologized, never once offered me another weekend. All she told me was that they were full and made it all about her. It was so terrible and I am so upset. Its one thing to double book, but the way the situation was handled was so poor. Not an ounce of customer service, she literally had the nerve to tell me she was "sick to her stomach" but not about my situation, about her own. Thanks. I just flew to Atlanta from Raleigh to make this trip. I was so excited, and even though I have the entire conversation in e-mail, I wasn't even offered any apology. I absolutely love booking through Mountain Getaway. This was our second time staying in Mountain High. The first time was during winter and second summer. Both absolutely wonderful. We actually had a beautiful white Christmas. It was beautiful, but we got stuck. We couldn't check out because it had snowed so much and we were up in a steep hill. Misty, the manager was great. She kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. Thankfully we didn't get charged for additional nights since we had no way out.

I loved the view so much I wanted to try during the summer. Amazing!! We stayed at Bears Lair. It was perfect. The kids missed having a pool table, like the prior one. Also no TV in the main living room. They loved the hot tub. I was in love with the view. I had my coffee every morning while enjoying the gorgeous view. Kids loved having their "kids' cave" on the bottom floor. This cabin was higher up in the mountain, but Thankfully no steep hills up and down like The Trinity. I highly recommend booking with Mountain Getaway. Great affordable cabins....

I've stayed in a number of the many cabins (privately-owned but managed by MGCR) Mountain Getaway Cabin Rentals has to offer, and not once have I been disappointed. Actually, each time gets better and better.

The rentals are beautiful inside and out, are tastefully and comfortably decorated, offer practically every amenity one could want, and have breathtaking views year-round.

I've made it my habit to come at least twice per year, and I always stay in a MG cabin. The owners have thought of everything and stock accordingly, and the management staff are courteous, helpful, and invisible --until you need them. ;-) That's just the way I like it when I want to get away from it all.

As a matter of fact, I'm leaving in two days for another stay --four days of peace, quiet, tranquility, and solitude, interrupted only by the soothing sounds of nature....
