The Nordstrom Cafe Bistro is such a great, hidden gem within the Nordstrom store at Fashion Place mall. I am unsure if this is how it always functions, but we ordered our food first then were presented with our receipt and could sit anywhere within the restaurant. Of course, we chose one of the tables by the window because it has such a beautiful view of the Wasatch mountains! Upon sitting down, you will be met by a server who will take your receipt from you, then bring you any drinks you ordered up at the counter.
The menu is fairly small, but I can tell you that every option is worth the price! We were asked if we wanted to start with the rolls and butter, and of course, I would never say no to that! The butter it was paired with almost reminded me of Boursin cheese; it had some chives mixed in and it had some type of cheese mixed in that made it so delicious! We also indulged in some early afternoon mimosas; I got the Lavender mimosa and my husband got a regular mimosa with orange juice. Always fun to have nice pre-shopping beverage! As far as food goes, my husband ordered the French Dip with the regular Bistro fries and the Kalamata Olive aioli on the side, and I ordered the Roasted Chicken & Goat Cheese Panini with the Truffle Fries and Garlic Aioli on the side.
My husband really enjoyed his French Dip, and especially if you are a fun of Kalamata olives, he would highly suggest trying that aioli! As someone who is hit or miss with enjoying Goat Cheese, I can't recommend enough that you try this Roasted Chicken & Goat Cheese Panini. The sandwich had a balsamic glaze on it that paired so well and really brought the flavors all together with the goat cheese and the crisp bite of the arugula. Additionally, the truffle fries were not too overpowering with the truffle and the garlic aioli was perfect seasoned!
We all know that Nordstrom is wonderful for its shopping, but if you haven't had the chance to try out the Cafe Bistro, stop in on your next...
Read moreI go to Nordstrom cafe pretty regularly because I love their salads. The food is not cheap but because of the whole experience it has always been worth it to me. Yesterday I went there to meet my friend for her birthday. When I arrived she had already arrived and was sat at a table waiting for me, so I got in line to order our food. I stood in line for about 15 minutes (even though there was only 3 people in front of me). The first person in line had their order taken and then the cashier told the next person that they had to wait 3 minutes to take their order because they were spacing orders for the kitchen. Fast forward to my turn I asked the cashier if she could just take my order so I could go sit with my friend (after 20 minutes) and she said they couldn't do that. I said I didn't mind waiting longer for my food, but again basically "sorry this is how we do it". I asked for the Manager and an Assistant Manager came over who was even less helpful. I asked where the customer service was and she said "sorry!" which basically made me feel even less important. I am seriously disgusted with the customer service- the only saving grace was Pablo who was amazing in making us feel important when I finally got seated to spend time with my friend! I won't go there again - I will go to the one downtown because they have a system that works! Nordstrom - you need to change this system because you have lost a customer and my guess is I won't...
Read moreThis restaurant isn't the cafe. It's on the 2nd floor inside Nordstrom at Fashion Place Mall. On the far east side of the store.
Great views of the mountains from the booths along the large windows.
They don't seat you. Order and pay first. Then a waiter brings your food out.
There's a menu taped to the plastic shield. Probably because of Covid. It gives the calorie counts which I appreciate.
There are a lot of things around 500 calories but some over 1,000.
My salad was good, especially the shrimp. Cooked perfectly. Almost $20 though. I liked it but would try something else.
Next time I'm getting what my husband got, the prime rib french dip. The prime rib is shaved. The bread is toasted. Dip in au jus. It's so good!
Get fries or side salad - he said the salad was his favorite thing. That's saying a lot.
We both got a cup of steak and vegetable soup. Comes with a crisp toast on top. Good but I'm saving the calories for the cookie.
To top off the meal we shared a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. They warm it for you, on request. Very good.
I'll be back next time I'm at Fashion Place Mall and want a no kids sit...
