MAC Cosmetics — Local services in Murray

This place is fantastic!! I have never used MAC cosmetics before, always thinking something a bit lighter would prevent breakouts on my sensitive skin. However, after trying a friends MAC foundation I figured I would give it a shot. Truth be told, I've never been very good at doing my makeup (15 years of wearing it and I still didn't understand the need or use for primer!!). Not only did the sales associates help me find a good foundation and concealer for my skin type, but the woman who helped me sat me down and showed me some techniques. I was very upfront that I didn't have a lot of a lot of funds to spend there, but that didn't seem to phase her. She simply explained what she was using and why (i.e. Wet brushes vs. dry brushes, primer/sealer spray, and eye shadow brushes). I had just gotten off of work and my makeup was its usual end-of-the-day shitshow, which would often make me insecure in going into a makeup store where the sales associates look like models, but she seemed genuinely excited to show me some tricks and how to prevent my makeup from melting off halfway through my day. She explained that often times customers come in knowing exactly what they need and she doesn't get to educate/play around, so it didn't matter that I wasn't going to buy everything she used on me, she was simply happy to help. The past few days I haven't had to run to the restaroom to make sure my eyeshadow wasn't giving me raccoon eyes by noon, because I feel great about how I look and knowing my makeup will stay on! I've been a fan of MAC for a while now, I usually shop at just the counters rather than stand alone stores, but the first time I ever went to the Fashion Place mall I decided to go into this amazing store and just browse like I always do. (Makeup fanatic here) The very second I stepped into this store, everyone was just so unbelievably nice to me. They complimented my makeup, and asked if it would be okay to try out a few highlighters on me. (Since I'm so pale, it's hard for me to find a good highlight but I LIVE for a good glowing face where my highlight shines so bright that it burns everyone's eyes. I want to look like my skin is literally made of mirrors.) Anyway, they made my skin GLOW with their new highlighters and were just so absolutely nice and so easy to talk to. I've found that if I go to most makeup stores, they either are biased about their own makeup opinions or just try to sell you the most expensive thing. At this store, they didn't even bother to try and sell me anything, they just were talking makeup techniques and fun looks they liked, like true makeup lovers. I had so much fun in this store that I left with my face sore from smiling too much. I wish every experience at a store could be like the way these people were. I can not praise this store...

I had an amazing experience working with Reese. She warmly greeted everyone who came through the door and when I explained what I was looking for, she sat me down to do a full face. She took so much time walking me through the application, brushes, and products she was using. She was fantastic about listening to what my needs were and what I was looking for and created a PERFECT look for me. She listened to how long I want to do my make up and the colors and face I was going for - i NEVER felt like she was overselling a product she didn't believe in or was trying to get me to buy something I wasn't realistically going to use as part of my routine. At every step of the application, Reese explained everything perfectly and was so warm and funny the entire time. This is THE BEST experience I have ever had while buying makeup. She even numbered all the products I bought in the order in which they are applied so that I wouldn't be lost when I got home. I always assumed MAC was for makeup geniuses who wanted crazy colors and looks, but Reese put together the perfect professional face for me that is easy to apply for a novice . I am SO EXCITED to practice with my new makeup and brushes. Thank you Reese for such a WONDERFUL...
